Why wouldn't he? He's worth far more than the vet min or MLE. We would be getting a steal to get him at the MLE.

I assume he means if we do that we have very little space to fix our bench. Getting him via trade leaves more options.

If we got him that would be great but I'm not confident in getting him. Winning hasn't been his highest priority and it's being reported staying close to his son is most important to him. La La said he is even trying to get back with her. Coming to Cleveland wouldn't exactly help that situation. He could probably make more money + be able to stay close to home.

I always had a hard time imagining Melo living in Cleveland. It seems even more unrealistic to me considering his family problem + taking less money.

I hope I'm wrong because we could really use him.

I don't know if it is possible but would be interesting if someone like the Spurs/Minnesota could get their hands on him.

Think maybe we need to talk about punting this season and trying to find creative ways to create some assets and cap space for next summer. Things like trading JR and his two guaranteed years for an asset, even a measly one, and a player with one year.

Not something you do right away, possibly deadline type moves. Still a lot of the off-season to go, but it's basically the Paul George hail mary or nothing at this point. Hardest thing to do will be making a decision on Korver right away. I'm not sure you can bring him back if you don't think you make a significant upgrade elsewhere.

I'm okay with no big moves as long as the bench is addressed on time. I'll take another finals appearance with the current roster over a risky move any day.

You cant punt a year of LBJ- if you do he walks next year.

The Melo news was a real kick in the dick. Dolan could have waited for Phil to gut the team before firing him.

Yea there are still guys out there that could greatly improve this bench... We weren't as far off as some like to make it seem... We need to add a defensive minded PG and wing to come of the bench
