Don't know that I agree that five opinion pieces from pedophiles arguing their own behalf constitutes a push by the mainstream media to normalize pedophilia.

While I appreciate David telling me my motives for posting, as I always do.

This seemed appropriate given the tenor of these discussions on women.

And sexual abuse in general.

If you don't like that, you're welcome not to respond. It doesn't have to be about politics.

Well, I think this is apolitical....

A real problem for (single) guys right now is trying to comply with differing sets of rules/expectations/standards simultaneously. There clearly are some behaviors which no woman welcomes -- rape, for starters. But there are also clearly some on which women themselves don't agree. Some women want the guy to be more forward/aggressive, and some clearly don't. And because we're not mind readers, it is not possible to please both groups.

What makes it harder is that it isn't even possible for a guy to ask the woman for guidance without that very act being an issue. Because there are going to be some women turned off by a guy who "seeks permission", or seems unsure of himself.

Sure as hell glad I'm married and don't have to worry about any of this shit. It used to be that if you got it wrong, the only negative consequence was that you'd strike out. Now, because of social media, it seems like your name/image might be splashed all over the place as some kind of perv/harasser simply because you guessed wrong.

Unfortunately, in this day and age, with the MRA and the rise of Third Wave Feminism; it's definitely not apolitical, and there are alliances of thought and ideology that, while not understanding these topics, will view them and argue them from a political lens.

So, given Ben's comments; it doesn't really make sense to have this conversation on this site; especially since it will undoubtedly become political..
