Would you trade the Brooklyn pick if we can get BOTH Bledsoe + Josh Jackson?

I'm looking at something like Eric Bledsoe + Josh Jackson for Shump + Frye + Brooklyn Pick.

I’d rather risk it all for porter jr

Yeah but you have to admit that still severely limits options with trading the pick.

First: the team trading the All-Star would have to have a pick to trade.

Then, if they do, that pick has to be a lot worse than the Nets pick to be worth an all-star.

Most of the time, if not all of the time, all stars become available because teams are underperforming or a star asks out(usually stars don’t ask out of winning situations)

Example: Pelicans. If they are trading Cousinw, it’s because they are missing the playoffs.

Say the Nets pick is #5. Pelicans are 13. For the sake of argument. Are they really gonna trade their star to move from 5 to 13?

Let’s look at the Butler trade. Chicago got 7, and gave up 16. But they also got Lavine and Kris Dunn on top of that, we don’t have Lavines or Dunn’s to throw in.

So yes, you can pick swap, but it severely limits the options you have with the pick and makes things much harder to get done.

I think Bledsoe’s a mediocre fit against the Warriors. He’s an average shooter at his absolute best. Too easy to defend. He’s just pretty similar stylistically to Rose and Wade

I’d prefer IT at 80% over Bledsoe. There’s no guarantee Bledsoe stays healthy either. He’s got bad knees. And also I really think his attitude and work ethic are big concerns.

I’d just stay away from him. Think it brings a whole set of problems we don’t need and I don’t think the ceiling is very high because I don’t think he’s a great fit.

In your example for the Pelicans, they'd be effectively trading Cousins and say, the 13th pick for potentially the #1 pick in a loaded draft.

You can't peg the pick @ #5 because Cousins can't be traded after February (he'll become a free-agent at the end of the season,) and the lottery isn't until June.

So, given the Nets are very likely to be a bottom team, that's very likely the best deal possible for them...

The Bulls trade was odd because Butler was not moved for fair value, but instead, to avoid an embarrassing situation for Chicago and to facilitate their immediate tanking. It was a very poorly executed move by the Bulls front-office.

All in all, yes, it's better to not require a pick-swap, but, I highly doubt a trade couldn't be completed because of a lack of a pick, that is, unless we're dealing with a team that is very high in the lottery and also doesn't have enough assets to get a 2018 first rounder for the Cavs.

No chance. It’s early but I don’t like Jackson anymore as a future all star. Glad we got the pick instead for Kyrie

Wonder if Ainge valued that lakers pick more than the Nets pick, or the Cavs thought the Nets pick was more valuable and insisted on it.

I also wonder if ainge valued the Nets pick more, maybe we could have gotten the memphis pick or the celtics 1st in addition.

Ehh, I’m not sure the LA pick is going to even convey this year. I think the Bkn pick was
more valued by both. I think the Cavs just were basically only willing to take Tatum and then when Ainge refuses, they ended up compromising on their 2nd best asset: Brooklyn’s first.

Yea easily. They wouldn't.

BKN is going to be better than people thought. But even so, why would they trade the guy they just drafted 4th for a lottery pick.

If you thought he was a future all-star prior to 3 games...you can't possibly have changed your mind about him that damn fast. That's crazy.

Dont look now, but the Nets have he same record as the Cavs, and a 2-game winning streak.

:lgh (5):

People considered Josh Jackson the #1 pick before he started playing college ball..

Lets hope this draft class actually lives up to the hype.

I thought he had a chance before the draft.

After SL, Camp, preseason, and 3 games...just not seeing it. I see a high level role player ceiling.(nothin wrong with that...)

Would make that trade in a second, but no way the Suns do it.... If they are trading Bledsoe, they want a #1 pick to pair with Jackson, not a start-over on the draft this year.

Would the Suns do it for Cleveland's pick and Osman?

(though this would then force Cle to have to use the Net's pick...)
