Yeah but you have to admit that still severely limits options with trading the pick.
First: the team trading the All-Star would have to have a pick to trade.
Then, if they do, that pick has to be a lot worse than the Nets pick to be worth an all-star.
Most of the time, if not all of the time, all stars become available because teams are underperforming or a star asks out(usually stars don’t ask out of winning situations)
Example: Pelicans. If they are trading Cousinw, it’s because they are missing the playoffs.
Say the Nets pick is #5. Pelicans are 13. For the sake of argument. Are they really gonna trade their star to move from 5 to 13?
Let’s look at the Butler trade. Chicago got 7, and gave up 16. But they also got Lavine and Kris Dunn on top of that, we don’t have Lavines or Dunn’s to throw in.
So yes, you can pick swap, but it severely limits the options you have with the pick and makes things much harder to get done.
I think Bledsoe’s a mediocre fit against the Warriors. He’s an average shooter at his absolute best. Too easy to defend. He’s just pretty similar stylistically to Rose and Wade
I’d prefer IT at 80% over Bledsoe. There’s no guarantee Bledsoe stays healthy either. He’s got bad knees. And also I really think his attitude and work ethic are big concerns.
I’d just stay away from him. Think it brings a whole set of problems we don’t need and I don’t think the ceiling is very high because I don’t think he’s a great fit.
