If the Browns are interested in taking a running back beyond the first round, some interesting names I'd be inclined to see in orange and brown are:

Alvin Kamara - Tennessee (2nd-3rd round range)
Jamaal Williams - BYU (2nd-4th round range)
Elijah Hood - UNC (4th+)

Jamaal Williams is intriguing. The guy is a fucking tank. He's had some injury issues though and didn't perform that well against the better teams on their schedule (Mississippi State, UCLA, and Michigan State aside from one big run). His catches also decreased every year from freshman to senior year. Not sure if that's on him or if the offense just didn't emphasize it enough. Be interesting to see how he tests at pro day and combine.

What do you think of I'Tavius Mathers?

I work for MTSU, so I'll admit I'm a bit biased towards him. But he is a former 4-star recruit that played 3 years at Ole Miss. This year at MTSU he had 1561 yards rushing and 633 yards receiving on 66 catches. I'm not sure where he is projected, or if he will even be drafted at all. I think he is worth a look in the later rounds.

I think he works himself into the later rounds, in spite of being a bit undersized.

He runs pretty low and has OK change of direction skills. Probably a bit undersized but can certainly work for teams looking for a third back with special teams skills. Haven't seen enough to comment on pass blocking.

I'm torn. I'd love Hooker/Adam at #12 but I doubt they fall there. Also would take Thomas if he is there. I want a CB in the top 4 picks, but I think with the depth you can get insane value at the top of the 2nd or even with the Titans 2nd rounder. Taking blue chip talent, even though it isn't the biggest need isn't the worst thing in the world. Crow is a FA after next season.

Yeah, the worry I have is that it seems like there are two free safeties in this draft who are 1A and 1B, then a precipitous drop to the next tier of strong safeties who need work on coverage or don't have the same measureables. With free safety such a huge need, I'm keeping an eye out for late risers who run faster/quicker than expected and small school guys who slipped through the cracks.

I mentioned Desmond King from Iowa in the prospects thread because he is elite in zone coverage while very strong for a cornerback in run support. Size is an issue, but I could see him developing into a free safety. Alabama's Eddie Jackson could have been the best in the draft but he fractured his leg. I believe as a senior he is going to be draft eligible and might be a good third day gamble.

You're talking Adams and Hooker, correct? In that case, you don't think Budda Baker is worth a damn?

Oooh, I missed Budda declaring. I've watched more of Washington than Iowa. I do like his level of experience with the position, but what I've seen King is better in run support. I also don't think opponents threw at King's direction this year. Big 10 fans might know more than I do on that.

I figured you would have seen more Washington out there, that's why I asked. :chuckle:

I forgot where I read/heard this, but some say that he has a great all-around package for a safety. While Hooker and Adams have that explosive trait that makes them rise to the top of the crop, Baker is supposed to be a solid guy. If faced between he and King, I'd prefer the guy who is more natural at the position (Baker). That's just my opinion; I don't want the Browns to have to try to change a guy's position out-of-the-gate.

Don't really see King moving to FS at the next level, also believe there are quite a few good free safeties in this years class in the early to mid rounds.

They are very similar players from what I've watched. I knew about Budda all season, really the key to Washington's pass defense outside of whomever Jones matched up against. I don't think the PAC 12 was as good as usual this year, but in a pass happy conference he was indispensable. I think he struggled in run defense when matched up with a more pro style offense in Alabama, but Alabama made a lot of players look inexperienced this year.

These kids names are getting more and more ignorant every year. Jesus fucking christ.

I'tavius? Tre'davious? Takkarist? Damore'ea?

And my favorite...Julie'n.

Are you kidding me? Where the fuck do you even come up with these?
