Damn, Jimmy G this is some serious good quarterbacking.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
#33, #65, conditional 2018, and Josh Gordon for Jimmy G.

That would leave us with #1, #12, #52, #108, #142 through the 1st 4 rounds with our QB of the future.

Get er done Ferry.
Fine with this offer, just leave Josh Gordon out of this.

Gordon doesn't deserve much, but I think third time could be the charm with him. Browns have him under contract, and it looks like he's going to get that opportunity again from the league this season - so why not keep him and let him play along side Coleman and Britt? That trio could be something to keep an eye out for in this league, especially if the Browns can land Jimmy Garappolo or draft a quarterback like DeShaun Watson.

Speaking of Jimmy, I just find it hard to believe that New England will move him all of suddenly now, after a month of telling teams no, they won't move him and it would reportedly take THREE first-round picks to even get the discussion going.

Absolutely, 100% do not want to deal more than one first-round pick for him. Honestly don't even wanna do that. The Browns have three second round picks they can use in a trade, I'd be open to moving those picks to either get Jimmy, or move back into the first-round in this draft to acquire Watson at some point.

Definitely don't want to overpay for anybody.. but I do understand that ultimately that the Browns may have to do that in order to get that type of talent under center in Cleveland.

Unfortunately.

Sent from my Galaxy Edge. Don't forget that the Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

What it stands for is way more stupid than not knowing what it stands for.
Hard to believe you are making that statement on a website dedicated to the World Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, lead by the indomitable King James.

  • Clayton thinks in the end they have to come to some Jimmy G trade.
  • Doesn't think any team is going to trade for Osweiler.
  • Cleveland has (at the moment) a worse QB situation than last year.
  • He does think there will be some trade coming up with Jimmy G since the Pats have no early round picks this year.
Now they don't but they will with Butler trade. He will be traded to Saints so the Pats will bring back their 32pick AT WORST. I don't know haw exactly trade for RFA works, I red somewhere that team has to give up their best 1st round pick, it would be 11th then.

They can negotiate any compensation

The Pats have done an incredible job of increasing the price tag for Jimmy G. Telling every ESPN insider that he isn't available, Julian Edelman tweeting about him and old buddy Mike Lombardi saying the Pats aren't going to deal him (although during the season he predicted he would be traded to Cleveland). Let's see how this plays out.

I'm not really sure about that. I think that's true among fans, but I don't think FO guys, particularly our FO guys, are likely going to change their valuation of what Garrapolo is worth based on rumors. Even if it did affect some teams, it might actually have the opposite effect on his value by discouraging some teams from trying to trade for him at all. And the fewer people bidding, the lower the final offer is likely to be.

I mean, just take the complete opposite tack, and say the Pats had announced "we're open for business on Garrapolo -- bring us your best offers!" I actually think they might get more that way. If the "he's not for sale" thing is just a front (probably the case), then I think it is more Belichek defaulting to his personal preference of hiding the ball on everything.

Grossi is saying there's a 40% chance we trade for him. He's the most full of shit reporter with that percentage so he doesn't look bad either way what happens.

But who's worse; The Bullshit Whisperer or Grossi?

Grossi, by far.

The Bullshit Whisperer makes up stories but he's harmless. Grossi makes up stories and is a fucking douchebag.

I made the mistake of actually reading that garbage after seeing Brinson's proposal. It gets worse:

"For a minute I thought about including another first-round pick or having the Patriots send a third-round pick back. But New England isn’t giving up any picks in this deal."

The analysis here is that Jimmy Garoppolo, is worth the 1st and 14th overall picks! He was the 62nd overall pick three seasons ago, a slot whose value is 8.3. According to this doofus, it is now at 52.2

I seriously would like to look at how you adjust his original value of 8.3 to whatever it actually is now.

He's been through 3 training camps and NFL seasons. So, what would you trade in draft picks to magically put Mitch Trubisky in suspended animation and come out of it with 3 years of experience as a backup to one of the all time great quarterbacks? Before you answer, remember that Brock Osweiler had 4 such years experience.

What are 2 decent starts in the NFL worth? Certainly a boost. Imagine I could take you to an alternate universe and show you that Mitchell Trubisky could be placed on a Super Bowl caliber team for 2 games and not only NOT totally shit the bed, but look pretty good? What would you trade in draft picks for that knowledge? Before you answer, remember that Brock Osweiler had 7 starts on such a team, including 1 in the playoffs.

So maybe you say, "I'd trade a 1st overall pick to magically give Trubisky 3 seasons of backup experience, right now!" And maybe you'd say you'd give up a 14th overall pick for the knowledge that he could have 2 good games quarterbacking a Super Bowl champion.

Which means maybe you'd do the same trade for Garoppolo.

Except for one thing. I cannot magically put Jimmy Garoppolo on year 1 of his rookie contract. You only get 1 season to decide if he's worth a big fat contract. Or you could, after trading picks worth the #1 and #14 picks in the draft, ALSO negotiate your own deal with the guy beforehand, to make sure no desperate team signs him next off-season. Does this sound like a remotely reasonable thing to do?
