Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That got me thinking. How would a lineup of Kyrie, Kyle, JR, LeBron, and Kevin perform?

Whose man is going to help on Kyrie or LeBron without paying for it? And what players in the NBA at point guard or power forward can consistently guard Kyrie and LeBron one-on-one without help? Playoff LeBron and Kevin are elite rebounders so TT's rebounding ability isn't totally lost.

Right, that lineup hasn't been truly healthy together as of yet, but Lue did give it a little time against Orlando.

I have zero faith in Lue, but I do hope and think this is going to be a common fixture we see in games that blows the lead from 8 to 22 in half a quarter.

Unless kyrie and love become positive defenders the lineup of ky/jr/kyle/lbj/love wont work full time..

Would love to see the return of the bench lineup of lbj/korver/rj/derrick/frye though..

I can't wait for a fresh TT to come back for the postseason and remind everyone why he's invaluable to this team.

I think he is awesome and very valuable too. That said, there are plenty of lineups he doe snot need to be in that could really extend leads. Frye was not the defensive sieve we have come to know with the starters. They play well as a team on D especially when Kyrie is trying. If Frye is your worst offensive player on the floor, it is trouble for the other team. Same thing if you swap Korver in at the 3 and have Lebron play PF and Love at Center. You can't guard all 5 guys and JR and Korver will kill teams. You lose some switching ability, but you don't need that against every team. It is crucial against GS.

I think Lue has been using Tristan too much. He should be playing less overall just because he loses effectiveness in over 25 min or so. If Frye can play passable defense and hit some 3's

Especially against certain GS lineups 4 guys who shoot 3's and Lebron is going to hurt them. They stay home on shooters so Lebron and Kyrie will make their lives miserable in the paint.

I think this has to do with an over-reliance on TT and not that he isn't any good.

I totally agree. This just marks year 3 in which people start undervaluing TT's impact on games just in time for him to show it in the playoffs.

That said, there are certainly lineups that he doesn't need to be a part of. A lot of that depends on Bron's willingness to play the 4, however.

Exactly.

Torn ligament but not fully, TT can and will play through it. Per Windy

So basically what JR had. Great.

Pretty much. Good thing he is just a see ball get ball kind of guy. Wrap that thumb up and go hustle.

SA is our worst matchup as of now. It'll be tough clanging and banging down low. Especially if TT aggravates the thumb and is ordered to sit.

TT's great, he's just not a starting-caliber center (except for the Finals, which alone makes him invaluable.)
TT would be one of the best backup centers in the league. There are moments against every team nearly every game where he can be useful. And frankly, for certain teams he would be great as a starter (Boston, Toronto, any team with at least two good perimeter defenders).

The problem is that Kyrie is an ass defender most of the regular season. That, combined with whatever the f scheme Longabardi and Lue are running, makes it so having a big rim protector is kind of necessary. It's why we all should pray to God that Sanders can contribute next year, and moreover, why losing Bogut hurt so much.

According to Windy, TT has a partially torn ligament in his thumb. That's... not good. No matter what happened last night, this team is going to need Tristan in the playoffs. It's too close for him to be close to 100% in the playoffs. Even if he gets the rest pf the regular season off, which he should, that's only a week and a half off. Unless the Cavs think they can win in the first round without him (which, given their potential opponents... it would be really tough).

If TT got surgery now, and with Aldridge's having missed 6-8 weeks from a fully torn ligament in his thumb as a guide, when could TT be expected back? What playoff round?

Guy was an all nba iron man, until he made out with death herself.

If you didn't know, I hate that bitch, matter fact, all them bitches in their family.
