Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
TT sitting will likely get us slaughtered against Boston because we lack any size, but it may help remind LBJ and TT how much they need each other. Also have to think that TT actually getting rest for once can't hurt his game.

Tristan has looked like he needed the rest for the past month and a half. His game and his hustle has been complete ass, so maybe the time off will help him recharge his motor and get back to playing like he is capable of.

100% Yes. He really looks like he is suffering from systemic fatigue. Kind of like when you lift weights eventually you hit a plateau. If you keep working every other day you are not going to get results because your Central nervous system's battery is actually worn down.

So say you have been training every day for years, not making any results, and generally appear to be lacking something. You shut it down for a week or two, go back to the gym fresh and I guarantee your performance will be significantly greater.

See these guys train so much, they are running and jumping around so much, they could actually really benefit from time off. Especially heading into the playoffs.

Thompson has been a rebounding Godsend for us in the playoffs. We need him full bounce.

It's amazing that they would not have forced him to shut it down for the good of the team. It Required a small thumb injury. I'm taking this as a good sign. Tristan is one of our most important players.

Who starts Channing? Yikes. Almost rather have love start and Derrick take his place.

Glad it's just a sprain. Good news

Actually happy about this.

Guy needs rest.

Give Larry a shot against one of the best in the East and see what we got.

Yeah.

If Larry comes in and actually helps us win the Game vs Boston great!! We can continue to build momentum!
If not we can basically mail the rest of the RS in and rest our Team for the Playoffs.

This!

From Vardon:

...if Wednesday were a playoff game he could've taped the thumb and played.

But the sprain is significant, a source said, and Thompson's going to miss at least one more game (Friday at home against Atlanta), if not more.

....The sprain is comparable to, though not as bad as, the torn ligament LaMarcus Aldridge suffered two seasons ago that eventually required surgery.

Yep.

I mean, half the reason he's such a good offensive rebounder is because in some instances, his man has sagged off of him to help elsewhere and he ends up with someone smaller trying to slide in and box him out.

I mean, he's an overpaid role player with no offensive game. We know that. But on this roster, he was a must-keep and Rich Paul bent us over a barrel while LeBron watched. Either way, I wish we could find a real center so he could come off the bench.

That got me thinking. How would a lineup of Kyrie, Kyle, JR, LeBron, and Kevin perform?

Whose man is going to help on Kyrie or LeBron without paying for it? And what players in the NBA at point guard or power forward can consistently guard Kyrie and LeBron one-on-one without help? Playoff LeBron and Kevin are elite rebounders so TT's rebounding ability isn't totally lost.
