The good news now is Butler is in the West and soon PG will. LeBron will sleep walk through the East until he's 40. Only real threats Boston and Washington.
I'm not sure this is such a good thing anyway. Last year sure. We needed the rest for LeBron against the Warriors while they were in a dogfight with the Thunder.
However, we keep getting stomped the first two games against the Warriors. Then figure it out by game 3. Primarily because we sleepwalk through the east. It always seems like LeBron is the only one ready for the first couple of games..
*Love played well the first two this year tho. But still the rest..

I don't think they will be that arrogant going into the finals next year. GS got their attention.
Has nothing to do with being arrogant. They just weren't prepared for that kind of speed and athleticism.

For as much shit as Gilbert has taken (and rightfully deserved) over the last couple of days, can the media stop praising the Bulls ownership and front office? This is the same ownership who ran off Michael and Phil and for the last decade has allowed Paxson to trot out mediocre talent and fire multiple coaches. When they finally got some good talent D-Rose gets injured, Tibs overachieves by making the playoffs with role players and then gets fired because his teams can't beat Lebron.
I just don't understand how the front office is able to keep their jobs when they've made so many poor decisions and wasted years. They'll probably get a pass but it's amazing that the Bulls team from two years ago (and the Hawks team too) has dissolved so quickly.

At this point, this deal is so bad for the Bulls I'm just expecting to see them assassinate Butler's character or whatever to justify them not wanting to pay him and to deal him for players not even the most optimistic fans can hope can one day be a legit star in this league.
And they gave up a pick in addition to dealing the best player by far in the deal...wow

Can't believe you guys are going to transfer your blame to the Bulls' management when you should really be miffed at Cavs' ownership.
GarPax are renowned for their absent-minded moves; I said last year that we could trade Love for Butler this offsesaon. And sure enough our GM was hard at work on such a transaction when our meddling POS owner felt the need to intervene and put a stop to it.
At this state you almost have to hope that the Cavs just come out and fuck around this year. If ownership isn't dedicated to improving the team, then fuck em. Miss the playoffs, lose LeBron and we'll see what Gilbert's plans are then.
