Butler Boat !!!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean I'm miffed with Cavs ownership but that has been for the past few days now.

This trade was just baffling to me and based on what Jimmy's trainer said tonight, just made me wonder.

I'm fairly concerned with the state of the team, we don't have the infrastructure right now to complete an organization.

Can't believe you guys are going to transfer your blame to the Bulls' management when you should really be miffed at Cavs' ownership.

GarPax are renowned for their absent-minded moves; I said last year that we could trade Love for Butler this offsesaon. And sure enough our GM was hard at work on such a transaction when our meddling POS owner felt the need to intervene and put a stop to it.

At this state you almost have to hope that the Cavs just come out and fuck around this year. If ownership isn't dedicated to improving the team, then fuck em. Miss the playoffs, lose LeBron and we'll see what Gilbert's plans are then
.

He's got a 128 million dollar pay roll that has went to the Finals three straight seasons. This is stupid.

They didn't trade Jimmy Butler for a star, they traded him for cheap young players and draft picks, which we had none of.

Have fun in cold ass Minny. He out West now and realizes the only success he sees is the timber pups fighting for the 8th spot for the right to be swept

Funny how we blast Durant for tagging along with Golden State and then blast other players for not wanting to do the exact same thing. They are "losers."

I love the mindset of the fan.

Too bad you didn't just bold the word "improving", otherwise you'd have had a point, smart guy. So are you happy with our team in its current state just going to another Finals, or do you agree that changes should be made to make us more competitive against our primary competition?

Miffed at Cavs management for what?

Not forcing the Bulls via nuclear weapon? The Bulls see the writing on the wall. They are doing a full rebuild. They do not want an in his prime player like Love. Furthermore, their GM is a stubborn prick who was not going to give his best player to the Cavs.

Dunn was a top 8 pick last year and coveted by the Bulls. He didn't play as much due to Rubio being there and Thibs not playing rookies much. LaVine will be fully healthy by Sept. This is not 2001. Players across all leagues recover from ACL injuries and have long careers with little athleticism lost(unless it happens in their 30's)

The guy the Bulls picked was considered a top10 pick by every service.

Is it a GREAT deal? No. But it easily trumps what the Cavs could offer and the Bulls were not going to entertain sending him to Cleveland anyways.

How you can spin this as the Cavs fault is absurd.

This is what I think happened. Butler did make a push to get traded here then the Bulls GM said they were committed to building around him. Butler stops pushing and retracts his comments. The Bull just did it to bring more buyers to the table to drive up the price. The Cavs say they don't want to deal with a guy who wouldn't be committed to being here and pull Love off the table.

Or, like... there's no benefit to a team starting a rebuild to get a player that keeps them from a tank?

With what?

And why don't you explain to me how the Cavs would have went about acquiring Jimmy Butler.

For all of the trade proposals that went something like "Love for assets, assets to Chicago, Butler to Cleveland," no one ever managed to answer why the fuck said team sending the assets wouldn't just want Butler instead.

Like why would Phoenix give us the 4th pick and, I dunno, TJ Warren, for Kevin Love that we then flip for Jimmy Butler, instead of just giving the 4th pick and TJ Warren for Jimmy Butler???????Both Love and Butler have the exact same amount of years left on their deals, and bonus, Butler is currently cheaper.

That's true but now they have to buy out Wade and Rondo to truly tank. They clearly did lied to Butler about trading him. If they were up front about it Wade won't have opt in to his contract. We will see if they are committed to the tank if they pay Rondo the 3 million he is owed and waive him.

Wade doesn't have to opt in. He's going to because he's not an idiot and wants his buyout.

Everyone fully expects the buyouts to occur.

Wade was 100% opting in regardless. He wasn't leaving that money on the table.

Sounds to me like Griffin was hewing the framework of such a deal in before he and Gilbert went separate directions. Unless you can definitively say, in lieu of somebody actually in a position of power to consummate such a trade, that the Bulls rejected it.

We very well may not have had enough ammo to get Jimmy Butler; that's not the point I'm making. But not having a GM when he's out there to be HAD is nauseating.

Griffin didn't have secret trade talks with teams. the entire FO and scouts work on these type of things. Multiple guys who are still here(Altman and a few others) would have been completely privy to any "framework" Griffin may have worked on with the Bulls or any team. If we had a package set up that the Bulls would have been willing to give us Butler for, it would have gotten done. Griffin leaving has NOTHING to do with us not getting Jimmy Butler.

And for all your (very warranted, appropriate, and shared by every Cavs fan and frankly every NBA fan) concern about closing the gap on GS, did you really expect it to go down on or before June 22 or via the draft in a draft we had NO first round pick, NO second round pick, and NO cash available to buy a pick with.

-Most of the trades that happen this offseason have not been done.
-No FA has occurred yet.
-Stop acting like its the end of July and we did nothing.
-And stop acting like we can go into a dealership with $1,000(our expendable assets) and come out with a Ferrari(a player the alone catches us up with GS)

Chris Paul should join the Timberwolves. That team, is easily the second best team in the West.

That'd by far and away be the best team he's ever played for.

I think that's a no-brainer. SA, yeah, they'd be nice. But, outside Leonard, that team is far away from coming close to competing against GS even with CP3. They just don't have the horses. Manu, Gasol, and Parker are done. Leonard is great, but he's basically the only real bright spot going forward. They got great depth, but still, it's not enough to beat GS.

He'd have a hell of a lot more fire power in Minny. They'd have a team that could cause GS some serious problems and be a legit threat.

They're young, too. And as CP3 gets older, his usage rate would be able to drop and give him more longevity to extend his career.
