Kyrie and Shump for Bledsoe and Booker is my kind of rape...

It would be nice but Booker is kind of what they want to build around. So if the Suns who have usually a decent head on things, Unless they think Kyrie and Josh are the star of a franchise. I think the knicks and the Suns, maybe the Spurs... LA and Patty Mills maybe throw in D Green for Kyrie, Frye, Shump? I know this is very rare to happen but to add LA and Mills even alone for Kyrie I would be down for.

1) Kyrie tried to have a meeting with Griffin after the season, but the meeting was rebuffed because of the Griffin saga.

2) Cavs then tried to deal Kyrie without asking him before the draft.

3) Their team didn't 'announce' anything. They had a meeting and a discussion. The only 'announcement' came through Windy (and whoever his source was -- mind you, only FO, Kyrie, and his agent were in that room -- and Kyrie would rather cut his balls off than leak a scoop to Windhorst) 2 wks later.

Given 1,2, and 3, I'd say blaming Kyrie's team would be about the most misguided take-home ever.
I stand corrected, but that wasn't the main point of my post, which is why I consider your point by point correction a considerable overreaction, as well as your snobbish comment at the end.

The bottom line is the Cavs don't have to make a trade to appease Kyrie. If their goal is to improve the team first, trade Kyrie second -- as it should be -- then whether or not Kyrie gets traded before the season starts or at a later date will depend solely on the quality of the offers.

Very well said but I feel the NY Porzingas and Melo for KI and Shump have traction here. I think the Cavs are holding out for Porzingas and any other big might sway them. Like Boogie is an option but on interest and guess what that means KI and Boogie swap. However I know this is like magic to most... what if the Cavs are trying to get Melo and Prozingas using Lyrie to do so? If the Cavs actually "Trade" Kyrie as I think this is a PR stunt. There are so many great trades for fans.

You took on the FO point and all I got to say is Ferry get off you hands already. This will all be fine and change is always a welcome thing. Since a KD and the NBA works together together to stop LeBron and his quest. May the final be written before your very eyes. Go Cavs.

I don't think the Knicks will be moving KP no matter what...they may have actually figured out how good he his finally....lol

I apologize for my comments, and will edit/delete them. I get the strong feeling we're getting the LBJ and Cavs FO spin machine in full voice right now while Kyrie is a continent away, and I definitely don't think it's an accident.

As I said before, knowing folks who know and trust Kyrie, I have faith in his judgment. The thing that worries me is that stuff that he does to screw w/ people as a lark (the flat-earth thing being the most obvious example -- I mean, come on, folks. Dude was born in Australia. He knows the world isn't flat -- he just likes to screw with people), in concert w/ the fact that Ky has never been obsessed w/ or worried about the media's view of him is gonna leave him w/ the short straw here, and he'll pay the price for it.

Frankly, I think Kyrie is just tired of being considered the basketball version of TV's 'time-slot hit.' I see it from the Haberstroh's of the world. I see it here. I see it on RealGM. I think he knows that the only way he will legitimize himself as a player is to lead a team w/o LeBron, and he knows just as well as we all do that a Bron-centered team w/o LeBron is the exact wrong fate for him.

Again, apologies.

I only liked this because you shown some form of humanity. We will always disagree and learn to deal with my type. It happens but a good conversation can go far.

Major props for this post.

Why? everything is a magic show these days. I almost feel the NBA season should be plated on Americas Got Talent. It is basically just a bunch of buff dudes showing off so you can feel worse about yourself.

If Durant never made his bitch boy move and stayed in OKC then the Cavs were built to be a dynasty with multiple rings. Even with all the extreme contracts and Lebron's one year deals the Cavs were built to win several rings. They could've been looking at a 3 peat had Love's shoulder not gotten ripped out of socket. Then Durant went to Golden State and ruined everything... There was no way to predict that.

Yeah i mean We had unreal injury misfortune in 2015.. if even one of Kyrie and Lebron was healthy we win in 2015. And KD joining a 73 Win Team is also unprecedented.. Cant plan for those things..

Yea, like, there's fingers to point everywhere but no one or no thing is perfect.

The team was well constructed. Just not well enough to beat that Durant move. And if the Cavs and James had playes everything perfect in every year prior, it still probably wouldnt have been enough.

Whatever. The way it is. Irving is leaving in two years. You'll never get as much value as you can right now for him.

Beyond people on this board and all around the basketball word voices their opinions, what "spin" do you think the Cavs or LeBron have concocted?

I mean Windhorst broke that Kyrie met with the Cavs in the past 10-14 days and asked to be traded. Kyries agent confirmed a meeting between he, Kyrie, and Gilbert took place and did not come close to denying anything that was put out in the initial report. Most of what has been written in actual articles by Windy, Lloyd, Woj, etc about WHY Kyrie wants to leave is the same stuff you are essentially saying.

So what is the spin you're referring to.

Their are three main sides to this developing story. Kyrie camp. LeBron camp. Cavs camp. And none of them ever want to look bad or be perceived as being in the wrong. So if there is spin happening, and really Saturday was about as quiet as it gets after everything broke on Friday, it's coming from all sides

Being as young as Kyrie is and given how succesfull this team has been, with him as a key part(you are massively overstating him getting overlooked on this board but it's natural to pay more attention to the loud voices who say something counter to your own beliefs), I would have preferred the guy being willing to just play his deal out and then use the natural process of FA to set up how he wants the rest of his career to play out.

Maybe he goes on to great success as a leader and #1 force behind a franchise. It's possible. He has the talent and can still improve as both a defender and playmaker for others.

But he may also look back years later in hindsight and realize that being a Wade/Pippen is ultimately more rewarding than being a Bernard King/Dominique Wilkins

Look, here's the thing.

If Kyrie didn't ask for a trade he or his agent woild have surely, surely come out and denied today, right? So I think its safe to assume that, at minimum, he asked for a trade.

Ok, now, if the reason for the trade is anything other than what Windhorst said....wouldn't he also just come out and say it? Like right now, in Windhorsts version of events, Irving looks awful.

So if there is another version, like LeBron is leaving and I want to get out ahead of him, or LeBron asked the team to trade me or whatever, why wouldn't he just come out and say it now? Cause right now he looks like the dude who just can't share the spotlight and doesn't care about winning.

If there were another version which doesn't make him look so bad, you'd think it would behoove him to say it.

I said nothing about him not asking for a trade at some point. As stated in the RealGM article (which is consistent with all logic), he went into that meeting in order to express his concerns about the Cavs' plans wrt LeBron. It was truly a 'work meeting.' It's obvious that they didn't give him the answers he felt were necessary. So he asked to be traded. My guess (and I think that, again, this makes total sense) is that his agent didn't throw the franchise under the bus and blame them because he knows they still control his destiny and, likewise, can still make the changes/trades/moves Kyrie recommended.

Ok, now, if the reason for the trade is anything other than what Windhorst said....wouldn't he also just come out and say it? Like right now, in Windhorsts version of events, Irving looks awful.

Why has he not explained that he obviously doesn't believe the Earth is flat?

Why did he not correct Windy when he said that there was NO WAY Kyrie was going to re-sign w/ the Cavs because he wanted out immediately?

For whatever reason, Kyrie has always been fairly distant w/ the press.

Add to that the fact that he's currently in fucking Thailand...

How many times have you ever seen him put out public statements to the press? He's a private guy. My guess is that he's seen the saga going on while he's out of the country and said to himself "and THIS is the kind of bullshit I'm tired of." You think it makes sense that Kyrie is so allegedly selfish, but he's become such good friends with guys like Jimmy Butler, KD, Draymond, etc? It's because he's pretty much just a normal guy. Hell, he and LBJ get along just fine on a day-to-day basis, but Ky isn't playing the 4D media chess LB is playing 24/7.

So if there is another version, like LeBron is leaving and I want to get out ahead of him, or LeBron asked the team to trade me or whatever, why wouldn't he just come out and say it now? Cause right now he looks like the dude who just can't share the spotlight and doesn't care about winning.

See above.

If there were another version which doesn't make him look so bad, you'd think it would behoove him to say it.

Tonight's RGM story is a first example. And, with time, my guess is he'll give an interview with someone he trusts like Grant or Nichols. But, right now, he's off building on a shoe empire that currently is 2nd in sales worldwide in the world's most populous region.

Umm last trade I suggested was Harris Murray Chandler picks for Kyrie instead of giving him away for a aging shitty Melo but ok... Your right lets get Melo and trade the better Kevin Love to clear a spot for him cause the two cant play in the same line up together. And I never said Jackson was gonna be a stud I said he actually plays defense something we need he's extremely athetlic something we need. We don't need a average athlete offensive minded player who provides nothing else we have a better version of what Melo will provide his name is Kevin Love he averaged 19 11 and had a 21 PER for reference

If we trade Kyrie in a deal and the best player we get back is Wilson Chandler I'm not watching another Cavs game

This is an amazingly underwhelming trade and if we did some shit like this the whole league.....no ALL of SPORTS would destroy us for years.

If we did this trade LeBron wouldn't even wait a year to get out.....he'd demand out immediately

Idk why ppl want us to hand Kyrie to a team for nothing so bad. The type of player you get back in a Kyrie deal needs to be an all star. Not some role player who averages 15 ppg
