Hue Jackson and Todd Haley Fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
1-22. Can't argue with that. He fucking sucks.

I just don't understand how such a highly touted offensive mind is this terrible handling quarterbacks and calling plays. Is he trying to get fired?

He's a solid OC but head coaching is different. He's terrible at managing a game.

Its like being a good hitting coach but you'd be a bad manager.

You are what your record says you are.

I'm pretty sure a high school coach could go 1-22.

Hell maybe a middle school coach.

Exactly. In the first half I was going to say he actually game planned around Kizer and didn't ask him to do too much. As the 2nd quarter went on he keep opening the playbook to more risky plays till Kizer throw the interception. Then in the 2nd half he has a design roll out for Kizer and we all know Kizer's accuracy is terrible when on the move which lead to the interception.

Is he a solid OC though? His play calling leaves a LOT to be desired...

If Kizer could throw the ball to the right jerseys we wouldn't have a problem and we'd have won some games by now. I'm just not sure how much of that you can put on Hue. He can't throw the ball for Kizer and does anyone think Hue isn't doing everything he can to get Kizer to take care of the ball? The kid has a big problem.

So I don't blame him for pulling Kizer. You can't just sit back and watch your QB blow game after game after game with horrific interceptions. Same goes for Hogan.

Kessler takes care of the ball but he doesn't have the ability to score touchdowns either. Just field goals or punts with him. But at least Kessler won't keep shooting us in the foot sabotaging every game with interceptions. He gave us a chance to win today, couldn't get it across the line in OT.

I'd roll with Kessler and maybe after a few weeks or the likely Kessler injury go back to Kizer and see if he can throw to the right jerseys.

Some of the other complaints about Hue are valid but none of those things mattered more than the constant interceptions and fumbles that have totally cost us at least 3 or more wins.

At this point I feel like the only argument for keeping Hue is continuity for continuities sake

He's just... he's just awful

Win or lose this game the constant mismanagement of the QB situation, the horrendous game and clock management, the refusal to hire an OC

Continuity with the wrong person, is it any better than constant turnover? Serious question

I think you give him an option right now. Either they part ways immediately or he hires an OC and focuses solely on the head coach position and they give him the rest of the season to evaluate his performance.

The majority of the first half is exactly how Hue needs to call a game. It's Hue constant love affair with the deep ball that gets the team in trouble. Hue's play calling needs to keep Kizer in check. He did that for 90% of the first half then slowly Hue's creep back into his old ways and started calling plays down the field. He loves the gunslinger mentality.

What are the odds they find an OC in a week’s notice in the middle of the season?

Well, not saying they need to hire the OC immediately, just that that's the option they give Hue. If he accepts hiring an OC, I think you look to bring someone in by the bye week. It doesn't even necessarily have to be a long-term hire. Just someone who can competently call plays and allow Hue to focus solely on coaching.

It's tremendously rare to dismiss coaches mid-season or bring in new coaches mid-season. Promoting from within to take more responsibility is really the only option unless somebody on the staff beats a British woman on an off day. Also can't stress this enough : There's a considerable talent gap between the Browns and the other teams they have played so far. This team is still in the early stages of the rebuild without veteran contributions.

I honestly don't care about the record. That's not what makes him bad. It's his horrible QB management, horrible time/clock management, his refusal to use an OC, etc that make him a bad coach.
Our moral victories/game are last in the league right now it's embarrassing
