Sometimes Cedi shows flashes that make me think he can be so much more. When he really pushes it in transition, or that nasty crossover into the pull up midrange J...little plays like that make you think he can be alot more than just a 3 and D guy.

He has potential to have a complete floor game but plays so reserved not wanting to mess up and get pulled by Lue.

Cedi very possibly being our long-elusive LeBron backup is low-key exciting as hell. The fact that we got a young 6'8" wing locked in at the cheap makes me giddy all over.

Everybody was so excited about the youth that we acquired in the trades, but the maturation of Cedi and Zizic to go with those guys can be a real game-changer. People want to keep talking about the future of Philly and Boston while neglecting to realize how well-positioned the Cavs look for the future.

Assuming we keep the pick and (fingers crossed) draft successfully, that's an incredibly high ceiling. Fuck Philly, LeBron can stay right here if captaining a young, promising core appeals to him.

Cedi’s slow progression towards 9-10th man will be in full swing once Love returns. If it’s not already .Green goobling up most his minutes . As I predicted during the ASB . Go ahead and disagree all you want , it’s the truth .

Cedi's worst game in a long time. In his defense he does not get a lot of easy looks with the second unit, especially looks that are not jump shots.

Cedi the last couple of games has been his own worst enemy. He is passing up wide open shots, and then forcing it when he realizes he made a mistake the previous possession.

As a defensive player he is ready to contribute right now (which he does), but on the offensive end he is a step and a half behind. I have no doubt he will continue to improve but it just goes to show why he shouldnt be counted on as a signifcant contributor in the playoffs

The last game was against detoit where he was at worst mediocre offensively, although he took a bit to get going. He still finished with 12.

The game before that he had one of his best offensive games of the season.

I'm sorry but whenever Cedi has a bad shooting night it seems like people are rushing to gloat about how right they were, and how Cedi isn't ready offensively. It seems like he is performing like one should expect a rookie to. He's had his bad games and his good games offensively, but more good than bad overall.

Even tonight he had one three try that was in and out . That falls we're talking about a 2/4 (1/2 from three) shooting night.

While I agree he needs to take more shots when they're open, I'd argue that they aren't getting him the right kinds of shots nor are they putting him in the right lineups.

if you agree with me, why did you hit the disagree button??????

Because I disagree that he's not ready offensively, and that his games before this one were even that bad.
I agreed with 1 out of your three points, while that is better than Cedi's shooting percentage tonight it is unfortunately not enough for me to push the like button.

Cedi is a defense oriented player. Pretty much everything we get from him on offense is a bonus. And he's been a great bonus.
This was a quieter game offensvely for him, but he still fulfilled his role for the team. He's a rookie ffs.

Be careful

I been said his defense will keep him in this league

But you know how it is around here

What exactly is your point/angle with a post like this?

Green’s been playing consisten minutes all year long so he’s certainly not suddenly gobbling up Cedi’s minutes.

Nor is there anything wrong with an energy player rookie being a 9th or 10th man on a deep contending team.

So I just don’t understand what your actually getting at with your post besides patting yourself in the back. Are you trying to offer a critique of Cedi’s game? Are you trying to ask people to temper their enthusiasm about where he is right now as a player? Are you trying to criticize the potential\eventual decision to reduce his minutes once Love is back?

Temper expectations of what he has to offer this season . Just a few weeks ago people were crowning him as a savior of some sorts . I was showered in X’s when I mentioned his role would be reduced as the season progressed . Something didn’t seem right , can’t put my finger on it but he just seemed sorta out of place . My eye test told me this, I’ve watched basketball over 40 years and trust my intuition. I’d also like to add, if this current group of players remains intake for next season, Cedi will again take a back seat . Who knows though , it’s way to early to know for sure until the season ends and we find out LeBrons intentions . LBJ bolts , Cedi will have a huge role next year.

He may be "ready" offensively but he doesnt play like it. Is that a better way of saying it? He is scared to miss shots, and once that hits he starts to press. Last night he passed up at least 3 or 4 wide open threes, and almost after every one within the next couple of possessions he would try and force the ball somewhere. As ive always said he has great potential, but he isnt there yet. He is a rookie, he plays like a rookie. There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of by that, however when he isnt a significant contributor during the playoffs, it shouldn't come as a surprise.
