Rodney Hood: Won't be missed

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Was averaging 17ppg before he joined too.

Said he becoming much more comfortable with what he's doing in CLE. finding his spots, knows what other people are doing. Seems like he's just scratching the surface.

If he's an automatic 10-20 points a game, how much of a lift would that be?

"I'm 100 times more settled than I was when I first got here," Hood said. "As far as just knowing the playbook, knowing where I'm going to be, knowing spots. Now, it's about just putting it together, and I think that's like the last piece. We're all doing that. I think we're jelling at the right time, especially when we get George back from injury. We're jelling at the right time."

The one thing I want Hood to do is take more threes.

About 45-47% of his shots were threes in Utah. With the Cavs that number is down to a little over 37%.

Subsequently, he's seen a big spike in shots from the 3-10 area and the 10-16 range - floaters and short jumpers.

He's a career 37% three point shooter and a career 42% shooter from that floater/short jumper range.

There's no debate here. Let it fly, Rodney.

True. It was a positive thing being brought up, after all. Lue can't be associated with any of those!

Rotations/lineups go badly though, and it's because Lue is calling the shots via text message all game long.

Don't get me wrong, because Drew is not very good, but he seems to sub guys in instead of calling the timeout and putting the same group out there. He only lost one game during his move to the big seat. I hope to god it is all player effort and not any discrepancy between Lue and Drew abilities.

Also the starting lineup with Green was prob Lue's idea because Drew said it was.

So was putting Rodney Hood in the starting lineup and finding ways to get him more touches and shots...

Yet, now that we're seeing that happen with positive results, how dare Lue's name be mentioned with it.

All I want is some consistency on here instead of the lazy assumption that nothing good can be associated with Lue ever.

Yeah, let's sing Lue's praises for the crafty coaching feat of starting Rodney Hood; really, bravo. In the mean time, can we call him out for starting Jeff Green, dad?

In the Rodney Hood thread? Probably not.
