2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There just isn't any sense behind taking him. I don't think that has been stated enough.

His skill-set simply doesn't warrant being considered better than any of the others.

Beyond that, the overt attempt to publicly state that they're interested in Allen is indicative of how Dorsey has operated with respect to the pre-draft process.

It's a super "out there" idea and a useful endeavor to claim interest in a polarizing prospect.

At the end of the day, Allen will go 4th or worse and we'll all realize the wasted minutes spent discussing him were for naught.

The same can be said of Mayfield just different reasons why.

You know how the Browns could stop it from hurting the trade value of 4? DON’T MAKE THE TRADE. Where did this stupid rumor come from anyways? We’re going to give up 4 and drop from 1 to 2? Are we getting like 10 first round picks back?

the giants can still hurt the value of the 4th if don't make the trade. They draft the QB for themselves or make a trade with Buffalo with out us. One less QB and one less team needing one hurts the value of the 4th pick.

There is certainly no legs to this. Like, if Buffalo wants Josh Allen, they could take him 4th in a deal for less.

Cleveland isn't taking him, and New York isn't either. If that's their aim it makes even less sense to me.

looks like there is legs to this. One of the "experts" (LOL)on the pay site says this is being talked about. The players could be reversed or even different.

It is the Giants pushing this. they get some picks and the player they want. Doesn't give the brown's max value if they want to trade down but a better value at 4 if 3 QBs are taken in top 3.

A bit of draft jargon that makes no sense to me is "arm talent". Almost all of the draft analysts say that Josh Allen has elite arm talent, and yet I didn't see many of those touch throws where he drops it in a bucket where defenders can't make a play on the ball. I definitely saw those throws where guys with lesser arm strength can't fit it in that small window, but that seems like only half of the equation for me.

A guy who deserves the "elite arm talent" tag for me is Pat Mahomes. The dude could make ridiculous throws from all sorts of different arm angles and foot positions and showed off both strength and touch.

I don’t think people are saying Allen has elite arm talent.

In fact, Greg Cosell goes out of his way in his evaluation to note that Allen represents the difference between arm talent and arm strength.

Allen has elite arm strength. The rest, he lacks.

Another reason why Greg Cosell is the best one out there, but there's a ton out there that says otherwise.

The skinny: Allen is the undisputed king of arm talent and measurables among the QBs in this draft

It's Dorsey guys, he does listen to us lol

That’s what sucks about the pre-draft storm.

Anyone with a twitter account and a laptop can be an “analyst.”

And I even respect the work Mayock puts in. And his credentials. He’s just way off-base on Allen. Like he’s been way off-base before.

Watch the ref at the end.

“Stop the damn match”

Ragnow should go round one as a C/G. If he doesn’t, the Browns should be interested regardless of need.

This draft has some elite talent at center, all of whom could play left guard at a high level if a veteran center is finishing up a contract in front of him for a year or so.

Yea I was forced to take 2 in the mock

I think we confuse Arm Strength and Arm Talent.

Accuracy matters for Arm Talent imo.

Allen has arm strength, but his arm talent is suspect.

Saquon Barkley's agent disputes an SI report that Roc Nation is steering the RB away from the Browns
http://www.cleveland.com/browns/ind..._barkley_browns_false.html#incart_river_index

Roc Nation steps
Step one: Have someone leak a story about how Saquon's agents are telling him he should refuse to play for the Browns

Step two: Have Saquon say say he would play for anyone to boost his high character stock.

Step three: Refute the original leaked story

Step four: Put out another crappy album

Browns step 1: Respect the wishes of Roc Nation and pass on him at 1+4.
