There just isn't any sense behind taking him. I don't think that has been stated enough.
His skill-set simply doesn't warrant being considered better than any of the others.
Beyond that, the overt attempt to publicly state that they're interested in Allen is indicative of how Dorsey has operated with respect to the pre-draft process.
It's a super "out there" idea and a useful endeavor to claim interest in a polarizing prospect.
At the end of the day, Allen will go 4th or worse and we'll all realize the wasted minutes spent discussing him were for naught.
The same can be said of Mayfield just different reasons why.
