2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Man, awesome research. Try to be more of a dick next time though.

It's about as basic of research as it gets. I literally just googled YPC leader, and then went back and forth between different years. Try making sure you come correct before claiming someone is wrong. That's the dick move buddy. At least do the minimal amount of research on something before chiming in with your shit take.

(I took your advice and tried to be more of a dick. Did I accomplish it? :chuckle:)

It's hard to "come correct" when we're talking about opinions. And as enlightened as I am after reading all of your brilliance, I still view YPC as a key indicator of performance for running back. It's just not the only one. But give yourself that pat on the back.

Are folks really arguing over how some dudes ranked the Browns, on paper, though?

I’m pretty sure we’re all excited about the way the roster is stacking up—especially considering the last 2 decades. Can’t we enjoy what’s turning into the youngest, and perhaps most exciting, franchise in the NFL without getting mad at each other about what some guy on some site think about the team, on paper, in March? Those rankings aren’t gonna win, or lose, games, so do they *really* matter?

R-E-L-A-X folks.

Aren't discussion and debate fun? Isn't that why we're on a forum?

Is some guy really complaining over how some dudes discuss the Browns, online, though?

I'm pretty sure we're all excited about the way the roster is stacking up--especially considering the last two decades. Can't we enjoy the fact that we're able to discuss a really good team with nearly unlimited potential, rather than the perennial dumpster fire we've been without getting mad at each other for discussing our team, on a forum, in March?

Of course discussion and debate are the reason we are on a forum. I think the line being pointed out is all the personal shots. Those aren't part of a "debate".

Exactly. Calling each other “dicks” and getting into pissing contests about something that can’t be proven right or wrong seems pretty pointless.

This whole "YOU MATTER" thing is totally going to be our war-cry under Freddie and I am absolutely here for it.

I think what's most exciting is that we are not only are in the process of assembling a powerhouse of a roster, but the guys that sit in the most important chairs ooze with charisma, leadership and influence. Even as a fan, I want to be lead by a coach like Freddie. I want to be motivated by a player like Jarvis. I want to be inspired to play for a QB like Baker. I want these guys to represent me as a Cleveland Browns fan. That's the kind of thing you can't measure with raw statistics; it's intangible, but if it has that same impact on the players (and I'm guessing/hoping it will), it can often be the difference between a talented team bound for the Super Bowl and a talented team bound for perennial dysfunction.

This organization finally feels like it is doing everything right. Every piece is in place and they're all starting to fit together perfectly. Accumulating talent is only one part of the team-building process but being able to get guys - winners - in a position to lead, motivate, and inspire? For me, that's almost the most exciting part of this entire off-season.

He gave him a signed hat? So freddie is just walking around with hats giving them away to people wearing brown and orange? That’s pretty awesome. I need to find out where freddie will be next.

If they’re signing Ikola they’re not signing Berry or Boston.

Hopefully musical chairs ends with one of those two on the Browns

Might have just signed his own hat and handed it over.

Morgan Burnett is getting cut

I think this is the one. He's actually a SS

I've seen people post that about 30 times in defense of considering Nick Chubb an elite RB.

I just think it shows that, while PFF is a really cool tool, it's certainly not infallible. Any eye test will tell you that Chubb doesn't have any elite skills the way the other guys at the top of the RB position do.

Again, it's not a slight on Chubb. If I have to give him a grade, he's a B+. He's really good. But, he doesn't have the elite talents those other guys have.
If you actually watched Browns games, you wouldn't say Chubb does not pass the eye test. Because he's does every game. He has power, vision and deceptive long speed and even a studder step. And he can take it to the house. I don't see why Chubb can't be as good as the other backs on your list. He has all the tools. Only difference is he was drafted in the 2nd round while the others you mentions went earlier.

And let's not forget about Kareem Hunt who was on his way to being a top 5 back before he got suspended.

You are using hype and name recognition over real eye test + results on the field.
