2023-24 Season | Game #32 | Bucks @ Cavs | Dec. 29, 2023 | 7:30 p.m. | NBA-TV

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I haven’t watched since the beginning of the second quarter so my opinion on this game is meaningless but I am wondering if 6-43 is the worst 3P shooting game in league history for that number of 3P shots.
I couldn't find a game in the list with that exact number of shots (43), but these were the worst at slightly more (45):

No...

The New York Knicks have the worst three-point percentage by a team in a game with 30+ three-point attempts, at 8.3 percent against the Raptors on December 31, 2020.

But what's the worst for 40+?

Mitchell cant help himself. Personally I would trade both he and Garland.
I would say that it’s difficult for Mitchell to “control“ his game and be more of a team player; however, when he does, the team can really excel. He did have 9 assists this evening, and in his defense, there were so many Cavs that couldn’t hit a shot tonight, it makes it even more difficult to share the ball. He certainly gave Strus a bunch of opportunities late though

I didn't say Mitchell lost the game.

I said it was a bad shot. Come on now.

It was a bad shot.
I wasn't referring to you specifically, but the tenor on Mitchell lately.

I think people are keen to overlook what he does and magnify the mistakes.

But, I can't blame folks for it.

Everyone is perceiving the team's shortcomings as they manifest in different ways.

It's the time that is my issue. It wasn't 40 seconds left.

It was 1:30 and a 4 point game. And the guy who has been making everything happen that quarter needs to be allowed to have the ball. He did not need to play hero ball with that much time left.
I thought it was 5, but I could be wrong.

I don’t think that was hero ball just because it was early in the clock. It was a high screen and roll, likely called directly from the sidelines. Out of that action, if the defender goes under the screen (which he did), I’m never going to be upset about Donovan Mitchell, 30+ points in, rising up and shooting.

Now, if you want to be upset that the Cavs didn’t call and run an orchestrated set (god forbid use a time out to do so), I’d be inclined to agree with you. That possession was so important - you want to be in your bag there.

This is the exact type of thing I mean when I say we’re spoiled by the years of LeBron, who was the coach and superstar all in one in situations like that. I’m never going to be upset Mitchell for taking that shot. Hes on a max contract specifically to take shots like that when he gets them.

Okoro 30 minutes, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 steal

Wade 17 minutes, 5 rebounds,1 assist, 1 steal

When is coach going to realize Wade over Okoro is the next move that should always be the case

Okoro is full of empty minutes and his team leading -76 when he is in the floor is a problem.

Another guy that can be traded for more size
Please look at the tape man. The ball was not going to either Wade or Okoro (other than that weird 2 minute stretch of Okoro at pg). Both of them are excellent defenders who are tertiary offensive players. They defend different players and are respectively our best options at the guard and the wing. Their playing time should not be interacting at all. Pick a better hill because youve beat this one to death

I just think the Cavs have struck NBA gold and have a potential star guard that went undrafted and he's being held back by both the coach and various players.

That needed to be Porter with the ball in that spot. Idc what Mitchell gets paid and what his reputation is. Porter was smoking the Bucks that last 6 minutes and needed to touch the ball on that possession.

This Allen won’t last forever but it’s sure been enjoyable.

Strus played will IMO despite the shot not falling—Niang left a bit more to be desired.

Glad we put a fight late in game in spite of some shitty calls.

Reiterated that CPJ is a baller and the offense looks better with him running it. And that JB struggles making that happen with Donny on the floor. Don’t know whose fault that is. But playing CPJ with DM + LeVert? Well.

Whether we win or shoot awfully below the mean in a regular season game during December won’t matter nearly as much as the process come playoff time. It took three quarters too long to do the obvious and stick with it.

Mitchell lost the game with that shot.

We'll ignore the 34 points on 23 FGA, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block.
World class talent held back by a junior high coach. He’s not generational, so he’s not going to make up for it himself.

Jayson Tatum would look the same here as Mitchell does.

Comically bad shooting night. I understand wanting to get up 3s, but the best place to put up points is the foul line and Lillard got there 11 times while Donovan only took 4. We don't shoot that well to be hunting that many 3 point shots.

CPJ needs big minutes. He's a top 5 player on this team.

Wade, Strus, Niang, Okoro and Levert are all subject to being completely ass. Would love to package some of these guys and find a big wing that you can rely on to be an efficient scorer.

Stats don’t lie. Okoro is the worst player on the floor of the rotation guys. -76 is awful
