2023-24 Season | Game #32 | Bucks @ Cavs | Dec. 29, 2023 | 7:30 p.m. | NBA-TV

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This Allen won’t last forever but it’s sure been enjoyable.

Strus played will IMO despite the shot not falling—Niang left a bit more to be desired.

Glad we put a fight late in game in spite of some shitty calls.

Reiterated that CPJ is a baller and the offense looks better with him running it. And that JB struggles making that happen with Donny on the floor. Don’t know whose fault that is. But playing CPJ with DM + LeVert? Well.

Whether we win or shoot awfully below the mean in a regular season game during December won’t matter nearly as much as the process come playoff time. It took three quarters too long to figure out and stick with what actually maximized our offense.
This Allen will be gone when mobley returns. Not Mobley’s fault. Just can’t play two bigs

Not really understanding the FT disparity in this one. The home team got zero cooking. Whatever man.

This is a nightly thing, regardless of location. I sincerely think JB is a factor in it. I also think the Cavs have a reputation for being soft. They also don’t play inside much with the injuries that have occurred lately. They chuck up a lot of 3s

Please look at the tape man. The ball was not going to either Wade or Okoro (other than that weird 2 minute stretch of Okoro at pg). Both of them are excellent defenders who are tertiary offensive players. They defend different players and are respectively our best options at the guard and the wing. Their playing time should not be interacting at all. Pick a better hill because youve beat this one to death
I agree with part of this. They are certainly defending different players.

However, their playing time absolutely needs to interact because the Cavs give up so much on the offensive side when they’re both in that their defense doesn’t matter nearly as much.

There is no world where I’d ever willingly choose to play them both against other team’s starting lineups. It’s doable against opposing second units but Giannis and Lillard are gonna be effective regardless of who’s in there to attempt to slow them down.

Mitchell's scoringbisxawesome, but his approach still leaves out the team.. it's interestingbwhen you see him ball handling, the pass action is happening three steps behind the three point line, where as without Mitchell the action is right at the three point line

Wade, Niang & Levert killed us tonight. Hard to win when those 3 are 4/14.

We get healthy, we can beat Milwaukee.
Mobley has always played very well against the Bucks. That's our secret weapon, and we actually match up well against them when he plays.

I don't really care if we go 0-4 in the regular season against them if Mobley doesn't play those games.

I think thats fair. With everyone healthy, neither is a starter. They need to be playing in mixed lineups with some combination of CPJ/DG/Strus/DM/Mobley/Allen in the other spots. Merrill or Niang if other guys are injured

I feel like if we can get healthy we can play with any of the big three in the East now, as long as we don't shoot 8-40 something... Knicks are not very good right now... And I never what to play the Cheat in the playoffs...

Yes, and even now, they shouldn’t both be starting. Porter needs to be over Okoro, and it ain’t close. Even LeVert would make the lineup significantly better.

I'm amazed people are still talking about this team getting healthy as the secret sauce.

This team is worse when healthy. Full stop.

The talent is higher but the team is worse. Basketball can work like that and for this team it works like that.

Allen was an All-Star when Mobley was a rookie...
True but Mobley was not that assertive in his rookie year. Team last two years want Mobley to be the man. Playing both at the same time is unwieldy. Especially with a pg in garland and another wannabe pg in dm

I think the Cavs win this with a normal bad shooting night. If they shoot 25-26% instead of 14% they win.

Mobley is icing on the cake.

Was it voluntary that he got put back in towards the end or did someone get hurt or foul out?

JBB subbed Porter for Mitchell to give DM rest, similar to the first half when Porter was in for just a cpl minutes, but he left Porter in, as his 4th-q play was good and kept him in even when DM came back. It was an encouraging sign.

It's funny. I was kind of proud of JB for pulling Caris and keeping Porter in. Coach made the right call.
