Wizards trade #5 pick to Minnesota

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Clear cut win for Minny, they may finally climb out of the dumpster. I don't see them making the playoffs or anything, but they're on their way.

Rubio/Jefferson/Love/Thabeet?

Hell of a nice core.

I'm loving this deal...Actually Joel...What is being said in the local papers and radio is that we will package #6 and #18 to Memphis for The #2 and Take Rubio @ #2 and then possibly Packaging # 5 and #28 to move up to # 3 and Take Thabeet...Kudos to David Khan for pulling this off..One hell of a deal

Holy crap. That would be one hell of a way for this guy to start his tenure as new GM.

Damn...

If that does happen the T'wolves would be one of my favorite teams in the league. That would be rediculous if they pull that off. If only they kept Brandon Roy a couple years ago this team would be very good.

saying that.. now if arenas becomes a pass first point guard... then this team will become very good.. but they have too many trigger happy players on this team. Dont understand it.

Like said by someone else on here.. everyone really thinks they need to blow this team up and start fresh!

Wow. Good stuff. At first glance it's hard to believe that Minnesota could pull that off, but at second glance this might not be impossible:

I think that Memphis really wants to take Tyreke Evans in this draft, but #2 is too high to take him. (Obviously, Tyreke Evans is one guy who shouldn't find it objectionable to play in Memphis. :chuckles:)

It also seems that Oklahoma City really wants either James Harden or Stephon Curry in this draft. Either or both of those players could be available if they trade down.

So if Minnesota pulls this off, everybody actually gets what they want...
1. LA Clippers - Blake Griffin
2. Minnesota - Ricky Rubio
3. Minnesota - Hasheem Thabeet
4. Sacramento - whichever PG they decide on
5. Oklahoma City - James Harden or Stephon Curry
6. Memphis - Tyreke Evans

...and both Minnesota and OKC pick up another asset in the process. Not bad.

I would wonder if the Kings and Knicks might exchange the #4 and #8 picks in this scenario, allowing the Knicks to move up to select Curry and the Kings to move back and choose from Flynn, Holiday, and Jennings.

Am i one of the only few who likes this deal for the Wizards. Yes they did get rid of the 5th pick of the draft. But they are trying to win now, maybe they didn't really see anything worth grabbing that they needed. They still have a project 2 guard in Young who should improve in his 3rd year. They have 2 young bigs in Blatche and McGee. And now they get Foye who is still only 25 and can be a spark off the bench with his offensive talent who also plays the 1 and 2. Then a good player in Mike Miller who can shoot the ball and play the 2/3. I think they made themselves a deeper team.

If they would have kept Roy they would not have been able to get Foye who was a key piece in this trade haha

Andy Katz @ Espn.com is reporting the wolves are going to keep #5 and #6 so we could see a lineup somewhat to this for the Wolves next year

PG - Stephen Curry - Sebastian Telfair
SG - Tyreke Evans or James Harden - Rodney Carney
SF - Ryan Gomes - Corey Brewer
PF - Kevin Love - Darius Songailia
C - Al Jefferson - Oleksiy Pecherov.

as a wolves fan..I wouldn't mind that lineup either..but i prefer Thabeet and Rubio ha

The Knicks fans have to be freaking out... They wanted Steph Curry because they knew LBJ was good friends with him..

Minny wanted Curry in but also had another target... Now they'll get both.... The Knicks are gonna have to move up... :chuckles:

:owned:

Washington will be interesting... WIth health plus Flip Saunders they should be formidable next season...

honestly...

PG - Arenas
SG - Miller
SF - Butler
PF - Jamison
C - Haywood

6 - Foye
7 - Blatche
8 - Stevenson

Coach: Flip Saunders

... I see that as a very good offensive team. A playoff team for sure... but honestly. Championships are won on defense and trading Etan Thomas (thir best defensive big), Darius Songalia (Thir Cav killer) .... I really dont see why they think they can win a championship with this team. Its a playoff team. 2nd round at best. But thats it.

They have no true big man who can play good defense or score. I mean this team is still a VERY soft team.

I agree. They are going to be exciting to watch. Warriors of the East?

Almost every team in the NBA has more talent than us if you subtract LeBron. It's sad.

If Washington stays healthy, LOOK OUT.

This year's Washington will be like last year's Raptors...

Everyone will be huggin their nuts preseason, just to be cool, and the Wiz will choke on big dick throughout the season.
