Re: Andrew Bynum
What's more than obvious is his weird body build and his childish attitude. You're exactly right about that, he's a lazy, fat stoner that wants to get paid top dollar for his potential. He was dominant while he could play, but I'm convinced that him being so topheavy, along with his bone on bone knees = No GO.....
When you are that tall, forces play on your body much different. It is clearer that this is becoming an unbelievably athletic league. Positions 1-5 are going to be filled with
players in the 6ft-6-10" range. I don't think you see many more successful seven footers. Unless you are a Tyson Chandler or Joakim Noah, you can't keep up with the pace of the game.
One thing in common between both Chandler and Noah is their ability to move their feet. With Bynum's knees being as toasted as they are from deep runs in the playoffs supporting that over sized upper-body. He can't move his feet the way Joakim and Tyson can. His best bet is to lay his weight into you, but it's not going to be a major factor in the future of the game.
Teams will simply try to outscore you. Sure, Bynum will score by virtue of the fact that he's a 7ft 1 gargantuan. The other team will beat him right back down the court with their speed and score either a 2 or 3 because of the 4-on-5 transition situation.
I think these players are going to be phased out of the game. They will all be some variation of LaMarcus Aldridge, a mobile big who can kill you with jump-shots, think about Chris Bosh's impact in the league thus far. It hasn't been as a prototypical strong bodied PF.
Any team that pays this guy is doomed. Hopefully the Cavaliers can put their greedy little paws into that slot machine and collect all those coins from everyone else' failures.
It's awesome to have an owner that goes against the grain. Will he seemingly go against the grain again letting LBJ come back to the Cavaliers? Hopefully Dan has a little Jerry Buss inside of him somewhere. He's not the prototypical NBA owner though, so it shall be interesting.
Kid doesn't love the game, he loves the money. Anybody that signs this guy long term will see him in street clothes on the bench well over 50% of the games he's under contract for. He just doesn't have the passion needed for the game, it's more than obvious.
