OK, it's time to start talking about free agency.

What do you think is the biggest need that the Cavs need to fill in free agent is this summer?

Here's a handy depth chart. I'm assuming Ellington is going to get a qualifying offer. Speights has that option.

  • PG: Kyrie Irving / Chris Quinn
  • SG: Dion Waiters / Wayne Ellington / Carrick Felix
  • SF: Sergey Karasev / Alonzo Gee / C J Miles
  • PF: Tristan Thompson / Anthony Bennett / Kevin Jones
  • C: Anderson Varejao / Tyler Zeller / Marreese Speights

CENTER!!

Wouldn't mind adding another wing who can shoot/defend, and a solid vet backup pg.

Al Jefferson, Pek, Bynum, or Howard.

Iggy or Jack.

veteran back up pg like cj w. or beno u. and a banger center like zaza p. or joel p.

Does anyone think we can get a big man like Jefferson or maybe Bynum for 10 mill a year?

I said talent. Obviously it'd be nice to get a big center who can protect the rim, but if Varejao can stay healthy he's a top 5 center in the league. I'm really interested in Oden, and I'm really interested in Aminu.

There are a lot of talented players hitting the market, and we're one of the few teams with a lot of cap and flexibility. Don't spend for the sake of spending, but definitely throw offers at some of the talent on the market and see who you can add to the puzzle.

Edit: Keep Livingston.

Man, looking at that line-up... we sure do need Andy to stay healthy. I understand his trade value, but this team really needs him at center. I also hope Shaun Livingston does not get any good offers.... him backing up Kyrie would be really helpful too. So my vote is Center #1, more solid backup PG #2.

I'm not sure I like the idea of paying Bynum to be injured.

If Jefferson comes to play D, I'd be interested. We'll have to see how the salaries are impacted by the CBA this offseason.

Pachulia would be a nice depth signing. He's not going to give you big points, but his average of 11 rebounds per 36 is a nice thing to have.

Backup PG: I'd love to snag someone like Kabongo as depth. But we need a vet. Whether it be Livingston or another option.

Vet Wing: We have a lot of younger wing players. Gee, Ellington, Waiters, Karasev, and Felix. Grabbing a solid vet wing could help a lot. I want Tony Allen the player but not the contract he will get.

Center: I'd be willing to make a splash if the right player were available. If Howard goes to Houston, Asik might be available. I wouldn't mind that. Oden is good to take a risk on. I'd at least feel out Pekovic and Splitter. I still like Splitter even though he looked terrible against Miami. But he was a big reason why San Antonio had a good year. If we strike out on younger options, Zaza makes a lot of sense.

I picked a back-up PG, but that is assuming Speights picks up his player option. Also, I'd love to sign Kabongo today.

Would love to see them roll the dice on Oden. If he works, great, if not TT / AV / Zeller should be able to fill in nicely. I don't see why all the fuss about TT and Bennett playing together, their skillsets do not mirror each other, quite the opposite. TT and Noel would have been redundant.

center please! pekovic or howard, dont care how unrealistic it is but the cavs need to at least make a pitch in signing either one of them..

C: Anderson Varejao / Tyler Zeller / Marreese Speights

^If this doesn't answer the question, nothing will.^

I know Andy can fill the center spot but he is not a center, he's a power forward who can play some 5. Zeller is soft as tissue paper and he has alligator arms. I won't even mention Speights.

TT is awesome but he's badly undersized for playing a lot of minutes at the center position.

We have NO PAINT DEFENDER OR RIM PROTECTOR.

We have perimeter defenders who are a sieve. They let their guy go past them at will. We just drafted a guy who is notoriously bad at playing defense.

Mike Brown is a good defensive coach but he'd better be a miracle worker.
