C: Anderson Varejao / Tyler Zeller / Marreese Speights

^If this doesn't answer the question, nothing will.^

I know Andy can fill the center spot but he is not a center, he's a power forward who can play some 5. Zeller is soft as tissue paper and he has alligator arms. I won't even mention Speights.

TT is awesome but he's badly undersized for playing a lot of minutes at the center position.

We have NO PAINT DEFENDER OR RIM PROTECTOR.

We have perimeter defenders who are a sieve. They let their guy go past them at will. We just drafted a guy who is notoriously bad at playing defense.

Mike Brown is a good defensive coach but he'd better be a miracle worker.

Andy was one of the best centers in the league before his injury last year. He is perfectly fine at center. His health is his problem, not what his true position is.

I don't know why people still like to pretend that Andy isn't a Center. It's his best position, he defends it better than he defends PFs and offensively it's a perfect match for his skill set.

Varejao is a center. Watching him play, there's not doubt. We're fine there if he can manage to stay healthy, but you can't bet on that. AV was a monster when he played last year - one of the best rebounders in the NBA. And he's a master of giving you a second chance on offense. He crashes the boards like nobody's business.

With him it's all about health. Three years of injury do not bode well. But we're a lot better if he can actually play 70+. Part of the problem is the physicality of his game is what hurts him.

First thing I would do is sign Myck Kabongo. Very solid, all-american PG from Texas. I am very surprised he wasn't drafted in the 2nd round. He also is good friends with TT and has the Canadian connection with our new #1 pick.

Then I would also sign a Veteran back-up PG. I would like to re-sign Livingston. I would also like to look at Jose Calderon, but I feel like he would require a large paycheck.

Finally I would like to find a BIG man. We need to find a tough center. I would look at Peck, Bynum, Oden, and Jefferson in free agency. I would wait till the trade deadline to see if we need to trade for one, because I think Andy will be capable. Andy will not be able to hold down the middle in the playoffs, but he can help get us there. It's not crazy to say that our pick next year will be a Center, and hopefully we draft an NBA ready guy who can grab boards and bang in the paint.

Hopefully with Bennett (and TT playing C) we are able to limit Andy to about 20 mins a night.

And when Andy goes down with an injury? Hell he's been considered the most likely to be traded for how many seasons now?

I hate having a team that can't defend the paint. The teams that went deep into the NBA playoffs all did that pretty well. The Cavs don't have the players to stop anyone when we're on the defensive side of the floor. Not on the perimeter, not in the paint, not at the rim.

Solid backup PG and a center, in that order.

I think the Cavs are going to make a run at Al Jefferson or Pekovic. Can't really go wrong with either, as long as they don't overpay too much. I think either is worth about 10 mil a year.

Resign Livingston. Take a flyer on Oden (1 yr deal with team option). Look for unbalanced trades or trades for superstars.

I think we should go after Brandan Wright, Ronny Turiaf or Samuel Dalembert. Turiaf and Dalembert would obviously be small, short-term deals, but I'd be willing to give Wright a little more.

I'm on board of offering 4 years 36 million to Pekovic. He's what we need, he doesn't need the ball. He's a true center in today's game, he throws his body around, grabs double digit boards, gets 4-5 hustle baskets a game. Plays defense, protects the rim, not scared to challenge anybody, hell I had him in fantasy and enjoyed the daily double double. We need this guy.

This is the guy I'm looking at. How much money will he command? Hopefully not that much. But he would be a great back up center for the time being, and if he falls through the cracks, can be had for cheap.
