If bringing in Tate means not drafting a running back, then that alone is worth it.
Funny...I recall their All-Time Great Offense having troubles against the Seahwaks defense. Even if they cut the Seahawks score in half with a better D, they still couldn't score on the Seahawks.
If bringing in Tate means not drafting a running back, then that alone is worth it.
I agree. As long as Tate stays healthy, with the low mileage he has in the NFL he is worth as much if not more than any RB in this draft.
And? They're not going to have to face the Seahawk's D to get to the Superbowl. They also shit on every team they played in the AFC to get there. Unless someone improves pretty drastically I don't see them having a problem doing it again.
Could not disagree with you more. You want to talk about system players, Tate is the epitome of that. Granted we'll be running the same system under Shanahan. Give me a mid round RB and I'll be way happier than if we signed Tate.
I'm not sure we'll need a featured back. It can be a running game by committee, once Chud finally STOPPED playing McGahee, our crop of running backs were better than expected, not to mention a healthy Lewis back.
It depends how much we pay for Tate.
Talib was -6.0 in pass coverage last year, just seven passes defended and was dreadful in the last half of the season. But somehow replacing DRC (+11.5, 12 PD) is going make them markedly better?
Don't see it...

I don't know how Denver can afford all these guys. Jesus.
