Houston appears to be out as well, leaving the White Sox as the most likely frontrunner.

It doesn't make a ton of sense for Cleveland to get involved unless Swisher can play RF everyday, but he would look incredibly nice in the lineup.

Wonder what kind of deal Michael Young will get? He'd be a nice fit in our lineup.

Strongly disagree.

He's just not very good anymore.

Hit .279 in a largely irrelevant year with Philly. Guy is a "pros pro" and would be the best consistent hitter we've had at third since Casey Blake. I don't know...seems like the type of veteran who could come in and provide a spark under Francona.

I've always had a thing for contact hitters with low strikeout numbers though.

Coming off of back to back career worst OPS seasons since he became a full time player, back to back negative WAR seasons, has posted a negative dWAR 3 straight seasons...Chisenhall was a 1.4 WAR player this past season, Young a -1.3...Lonnie's oWAR was 1.2, Young a 1.5....Lonnie is 24 and barely costs anything, Young takes you out of re-signing a young player or bolstering the pitching staff.

While costing you about $8M less.

I'm all for veteran leadership, but that is absolutely not lacking on this team.

Abreu got some bank, but it's not hard to see him outperforming 68m. That's only about 14WAR over 6 years.

Their player development is pretty bad, we'll see if raw talent is able to overcome it.

He's not a complete hitter, so they have work to do.

The Angels are reportedly interested in moving Mark Trumbo for young starting pitching.

Not sure what kind of package it'd take, or how much he'd be worth giving up. I do know the Indians would like a legitimate power threat in the middle of their lineup, and Trumbo definitely has that.

@Buster_ESPN: Royals ready to talk about Billy Butler deal for teams that would take on DH owed $8 million in '14, $12m in 2015.

I'd love Country Breakfast.

Holy hell, San Fran..

That Lincecum deal is a clear indicator that Ubaldo will be signing with some team other than the Tribe.

$17.5M per season?!

That and the Pence deal seem like bigtime overpay to me.

Pence deal was insane and totally unjustifiable. Too many years, money was too high. Giants have a history of radically overpaying OF. I'd have gone 3/40 or so.

Lincecum deal is somewhat justifiable. They get out after 2 years. They were probably committing 15m to him in a QO. I consider it a reasonable wager they can fix him
