2015 NBA Offseason Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
hedo did it like 5 years ago.

still super scummy of him and hope it bites him in the ass. of course the clippers also have doc as their unbelievably horrific gm, so not exactly far-fetched for them to continue to fall short of the finals.

edit: parsons badmouthing him now is a bad look too tho.
not all players are unethical

I honestly thought Parsons went easy on him in that interview. Could have been way worse.

The Heat are looking great on paper for my NBA 2k10 roster.

Gonna be fun watching them win 43 games, lose in the first round, and not be able to sign Whiteside wtihout his bird rights.

That being said, at least they have a good avenue to blow it up after one or two more years. I'll give Riley a little credit for that. But they're not a threat.

LeBron getting injured or Chicago getting top-level Noah, MVP Rose, and adding about three knockdown shooters is the only way the Cavs even have to worry about an ECF banner. Print that SOB up now and let's get ready to battle Popovich in the Finals...which might be the greatest finals in the last 30 years if both teams are healthy.

Irving/Parker
Smith/Green
LBJ/Kawhi
Love/LMA
Moz/Duncan

AV/TT/Smith/Mo/Delly/whoever we trade for Haywood.

Diaw/West/Mills/Anderson/Bonner/Maccallum

sideline cheerleaders don't count

Bloodbath. Easily a bloodbath.

Rest is big for LBJ but we have a lot of youth. S.A will win 53-57 games. We need to win 58-60 and get that home court.

Health will matter. Pops' the best and LMA fits well but there will be some integration bumps for that type of player.

Way too far ahead if myself though

That being said...if Joe Johnson wants to come run our 2nd unit with Mo bringing the ball up, and spotting up, TT annihilating the glass, and Shumpert quarterbacking the D....that would be amazing. Johnson has got GAME..

I'd run a crunch time line-up of Kyrie, JJ, LBJ, Love, and Tristan. Switch shump in on serious defensive possessions even though JJ is capable himself...\

?How do you guard that line-up? LeBron either gets a 5 foot baby hook with no help, Kyrie gets a wide open three or a pump fake and a free waltz to the basket. Love and Johnson get WIDE OPEN shots on command, and Tristan just jumps at the glass and either gets an oop or a put-back dunk. Unguardable....

So far ahead of myself though....so much $.... I'd miss A.V....but I'd get over it. ( not like hes seeing crunch time at the 4 or 5 over LBJ, Moz, or TT)\

I need to leave this thread immediately before I fully hop aboard the Joe Johnson train.

Doc Rivers on why Deandre Jordan didn't owe Cuban a phone call after backing out of the real:

"Typically when a free agent leaves, the agent calls," Rivers said on a conference call with reporters. "DJ was with us seven years, and when he first decided to leave, his agent called me. Some people choose to make the call themselves, some people don't. That's why you hire reps to do that work for you. This summer, I've been turned down more than a college kid at a college bar, and I have yet to get a call from a player. It's always the agent. ... It's part of our league and it's fine. That's the way it's done."

Yeah, that is all well and good, except perhaps backing out of a verbal agreement, with which an entire franchise is basing its off-season moves, deserves a response more than typical protocol. A man would have called Cuban himself. Jordan is obviously a weak-minded child and Rivers is an ass for defending that behavior. Typical response from classless coach and a classless organization. Though I think no self-respecting NBA fans would ever root for injuries, I doubt anybody would shed a tear if Karma hit the Clippers hard this year. Assholes.

It's not being unethical in that case. He signed under the circumstance that Jordan was there, and was expecting one thing (to compete), and Jordan backed out.

No news on Wes? I wouldn't sign there personally, seems like a waste of time if he could still get that Sac deal imo.

I'm curious to see if the Pacers can turn that Hibbert 15.5M TPE into anything this season.

Yep, just got the update on Yahoo Joel Embiid is likely to be out again all year. I'm so, so glad we did not pick that guy. Unbelievable.

I wanted Embiid and Parker over Wiggins :chuckle:

Talent-wise, no one could fault you for that.
I don’t think anyone could have predicted his injury issues would be this severe.

I was absolutely on the Embiid train, and I still believe a healthy Embiid is the best player in that draft. Unfortunately, it looks like "healthy Embiid" doesn't exist. Shame.

As a fan of the game of basketball, this is absolutely devastating news. Embiid was so, so talented. If healthy, I think he would've easily been the best center in the NBA, but now it looks like he'll never take the court. It really sucks to see injuries derailing the career of a 21 year old kid before it even begins.

I know it's a longshot now, but let's remember that Z had all kinds of foot problems early in his career and he still went on to become an All Star. I hope we see Embiid come back better than ever.

I wanted Embiid and Parker over Wiggins :chuckle:
Before the injury, we all did. Man, we could have had an all-time great center. He really did look like the next Hakeem.

I wanted Embiid and Parker over Wiggins :chuckle:
No way I can fault you for that at all. I was much higher on Parker myself. But man, Embiid's health is becoming the most depressing story since Brandon Roy and Greg Oden, and could easily top both if he never catches a break. At least his Twitter account brings us some good material from time to time.

Having battled stress fractures for years, I saw this coming. They are hard to get rid of and have a tendency to migrate.

Mine were the result of shitty Army medicine, but in his case he is very much worse off. A young kid with a huge, growing frame that is already effected is going to have these problems his entire career. If he has a career.
