2015 NBA Offseason Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Foot problems and huge 7 footers...not a good combo.

Speaking of 7 footers, did anyone see Porzingis play for the Knicks summer team today? I guess reports are he looked good? From the photos, he wasn't as skinny as I expected, actually had some muscle.

Man, Philly looks like fucking geniuses right now taking Okafor, don't they? Where are all those people who were shitting on them draft night? Embiid probably out for the season and Okafor has been showing out in Summer League. Take the best player available, boys.

Well, the flip side of that is they're only in this position because they willingly took a big man with known foot problems. A player they knew would miss significant time right from the jump.

So... I guess things just even out.

Twice.

Really wish RHJ would have been there for us at 24. I don't think we would have passed on him or Portis. RHJ looks like Gerald Wallace in the summer league.

Just watched Okafor's highlights. Sweet god, that feet work is wankworthy.

Okafor is al jefferson good offensively but at a much younger age. Nice piece to build round if you can pair with a defensive rangy front court partner

I don't think the Cavs would have traded RHJ, Delon Wright, Justin Anderson or Portis.
They just didn't like Tyus Jones and rightfully so.

Yeah. Also, unlike Al, he is really good at bringing others into the game. His passing is good. His offensive game will improve. All he needs to do is improve that free throw shooting and defense. As for defensive partner, he has Noel who would be a great fit alongside him, IMO.

Towns is so underwhelming so far.
Okafor can do whatever he wants in the post, I don't see that changing at the NBA level.

So with Dallas and Portland falling out of the playoffs presumptively, do you think the Kings stand a chance of actually making the Western Conference playoffs?

Their lineup is going to be something like:
Cousins
Bargnani?
Rudy Gay
Ben McLemore (or maybe Belinelli?)
Rondo

Bench:
Darren Collison
Marco Belinelli
Kosta Koufos
Willie Cauley-Stein
Casspi (actually plays somewhat passable basketball in Sacramento)

Its a totally strange lineup with 4 guys in the top 9 that can play center, but you could think they have a "Big 3" with Cousins, Gay, and Rondo. Bargniani is a stretch 4 and maybe McLemore gets better this year. You got Willie off the bench to provide some defense and hope for the future and Collison is a solid backup PG. Koufos isnt shabby either.

They would definitely be in the playoffs in the East I think. It was an admirable "win now" offseason for them considering how badly lots of other teams did outside of San Antonio and how low the expectations were.

Kings are going to be a fun team to watch this year because every player on their roster has something to prove. It's a team of rejects that the national media has been trashing all summer. Whether Karl can channel that into winning basketball remains to be seen.

Indeed. They have been getting plenty of unwanted criticism. Rooting for them to make the play-offs. The darkhorses for me are Utah Jazz. Their defense is brilliant and they have got a good coach as well. Their record post-Kanter trade was great. Also, I expect Hayward to take the next step and become an all-star caliber player.

Does Chicago still own that pick from SacTown we used to own? If so, not rooting for SacTown until it becomes a 2nd rounder or is relinquished.

Portland making an offer on Kanter. time for OKC to put up or shut .

Not Sure why Dallas would be out of the Playoffs.

Zaza is underrated. They still have parsons and dirk. Matthews may be healthy and Deron potentially could have a bounce back year in a new environment

Definitely out of Title contention.. Playoffs though they still have a decent shot.
