2015 NBA Offseason Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah, I might have written off Dallas too soon. I'll say the Warriors, Spurs, OKC, Rockets and Clippers are locks and contenders. You could arguably throw Memphis in there as well. That leaves 2 spots up for grabs. Dallas, Portland, and New Orleans made it last year. I just dont see Dallas being better. Chandler was huge for what they do and the Rondo trade really messed them up. Mathews and Deron Williams come with huge if's.

New Orleans is going to be the same team, but I'm not sure if thats good enough. The Brow is already beasting so he cant get much better. Utah's guys could develop and build on last year and with the Kings would be the main other challengers for the last spots. Minny is going to be better but probably another year (and draft) away. Hell the Lakers will be better, basically adding a whole new team compared to last year with Hibbert, Randle, Russell and whatever is left of Kobe (I'm thinking he plays till he catches Kareem).

I like R.J Hunter, might have been useful here with the spacing we have.

Ill take the opposite view of New Orleans.

Davis may not improve production wise but he can improve at turning that production into wins.
Learning things like when to turn up the defensive pressure.. when he needs to step up and when to trust his teammates or make sure they are involved in the game.

These are things a guy like Davis will recognize and prioritize after seeing playoff basketball as a main cog.

This is pretty funny. The Grizzlies seem to have a really good social media department (also thought their Warriors clip was clever).

Luc Mbah a Moute has failed his physical with the Kings.

A guy I'd like to see the Cavs get into camp is Maurice Ndour. Perhaps a bit homerish since I am a fellow Bobcat, but I always really liked his game. He's been having a phenomenal summer league thus far, though, so I'm assuming the Knicks will bring him into camp.

I'm not exactly sure where he fits at the NBA level. 6'9" 200 lbs with a 7'4" wingspan. Played PF in college but he has a very good shooting stroke (shot 43.5% from three last year at OHIO). Solid rebounder. Strong defender. In a league quickly transitioning to small ball and position-less basketball, he seems like the type of guy that could thrive in the right situation. It'd be good to have a developmental guy of this nature on the roster that we could send down to Canton for a little while and just let him play and build his confidence.

Check out some of his summer league highlights. Again, it's summer league, so take it for what it is. I'll be interested to see what ultimately happens with him.

Kings are going to be a fun team to watch this year because every player on their roster has something to prove. It's a team of rejects that the national media has been trashing all summer. Whether Karl can channel that into winning basketball remains to be seen.

Either that or they'll have a Latrell Sprewell incident.....

So Josh Smith signed for vet min at Clippers. I am wondering whether Griffin approached him...

I would've thrown up if he did. Josh Smith has played a couple weeks of good basketball in the last few years. As overrated as they come in my book.

I'm so glad the Cavs are in the East.

I'm sure we really couldn't use him, but that's a fairly good player to acquire for essentially nothing. The Rockets traded their own pick, right?
