2016-2017 Indians Off-Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yea Napoli makes the most sense for the Tribe/Dolan's. They'll pay him for another year and hope he puts up 30+ dingers again. I can't imagine the Tribe dishing out the cash for Edwin/Trumbo/Cespedes, but it's cool to dream of Cespedes in RF in the 2017 WS.

I would go out on a limb here and say Napoli played over his standards this past season, he was automatic until the postseason. I'm not banking on him doing it again or even better. He usually misses time at some point, but he was a iron man for whatever reason.

Now when you include Brantley in the lineup at cleanup, Napoli may be better suited at 5th with Jose behind him. He'll see his share of fastballs again so 30 HRs is a strong possibility.

We need Brantley to return to that 7.0 WAR. 2014 Brantley is the missing ingredient to this team, treat his return as a FA signing. Even if he's at 4.0 WAR we'd love it.

We're crowded in the OF, Brantley, Naquin, Chisenhall, Almonte, Guyer. Obviously right now it's Chis/Guyer slated for RF, and I guess Almonte is insurance to Naquin's struggles, and Brantley's health, but that also hurts our defense dramtaically.

Clevinger/Anderson were told they will be prepared as starters going into ST, I would imagine our rotation is set, what if we see a 6 man rotation next year to protect our guys? Salazar died mid season. Carrasco was just unfortunate luck all year. I wouldn't blame Tito for having the early idea of a 6 man crew to start.

There's no way Ed will.

At least I hope?

I think Edwin surpasses 17.2 easily.....prob on a 2-3 year deal. But you've got Hanley Ramirez at 22, Adrian Gonzalez at 22, Freddie Freeman at 20, Chris Davis at 21....shit, even Ryan Zimmerman is at 14.

My guess is Edwin gets in the ballpark of 20-22....

Throwing this out there; I'd rather have Edwin at 20+ for two than Nap at QO for one.

He is a pipe dream for aure

I think 4-5 years is more likely with Encarnacion. 5 years might be a stretch, but a bidding war is going to start for him, and he's going to get at least 4 imo

Spotrac projects Encarnacion's market value at 5/$117M

Are we projecting Allen making the team as a starter? I thought he was still a little far off?

No, not at all. Would honestly be surprising if we saw him this year. Could see him as a pinch runner in September, but Tito hasn't shown much of a propensity to do that.

You won't see a 6 man rotation. When they say rotation depth, they just mean having those guys stretched out and ready to go in Columbus.

A blown 3-1 lead in the World Series, a meaningless 6 months of NBA regular season in front of us, and a soon to be 0-9 NFL team, I mean to browse sober right now you'd have to be a masochist.
