If I'm correct, Teague's best season in terms of TS% was last year (2014-15), when he ranked 22nd in all guards. This year, he ranked 46th (numbers off the top of my head but I was reading it awhile ago) amongst all guards. Every year prior to that he was not in the top fifty guards in terms of shooting efficiency. Maybe he isn't "inefficient," but to call him "efficient" is equally fallacious.

I'm not saying Teague is a bad player, he's not, and he's arguably a better talent than Hill, but I don't think so for Indiana. I hope I'm wrong, I like the Pacers a lot and love Paul George, I just don't see how this fits. George needs a bunch of 3+D guys along with a point guard that, frankly, doesn't really need to shoot. I honestly think George Hill was a perfect point guard for Paul George. The thing is, they needed another reliable shooter who can lead the offense when PG is off the court, I just don't know if point guard is the right position to do that.

I don't know about his ranks, but 55% true shooting, which is what he did last year, and 57% the year before are pretty good. His career is 54.4%. I consider that to be above average efficiency for a guard.

For reference, Kyrie was 54% this year and 55.5% for his career. I definitely consider him to be efficient.

crazy that Rose is out of Chi-town. Absolutely crazy. With them in full rebuild mode they will keep Butler around and build around him, but I could easily see Butler growing frustrated with this and wanting to force a trade. Worth keeping an eye on.

Windhorst wasn't lying when he talks about how the Cavs are literally blowing up the East. Not just on the court, but in terms of roster composition. This seems like great value for NYK.

I like the deal for the Knicks. They rid themselves of Calderon and get Rose, who has spurts of great play. Wonder where the Bulls go from here. They have Lopez now, so is Noah/Pau gone for good?

Honestly think Butler would hate that... wouldn't be surprised if he gets traded.

Cavaliers dropped a nuclear bomb on the Eastern Conference... hell, the entire league.

Golden State is in disarray; OKC might lose a superstar; the Heat are fucked; and we're watching Atlanta and Chicago burn to the ground. Toronto is just happy to be here.

Let it burn I say....

Just wait until New York crumbles under the dysfunction of a Derrick Rose and Carmelo led Knicks team. That thing has the potential to be an absolute tire fire.

Jesus, Phil Jackson is really trying to get Melo to waive that no trade clause.

They dislike each other... that's the funny part. Melo made note of it when he said Rose wouldn't even greet him when he was considering playing for the Bulls.

Good trade for the Knicks, but they're not going anywhere.

The Eastern Conference is free.

Again, I'm not trying to say Teague is inefficient - and I admitted my exaggeration in the first post - but he's also not an efficient shooter.

Kyrie's been efficient in the playoffs (57.5% TS%), and last regular season (58% TS%), he was not efficient this regular season. He also was a chucker his first few years in the league.

Jeff Teague's TS% has consistently ranked in between spots 22-75 of all guards. He's not efficient like many elite guards are, on season-by-season, neither is Kyrie. The difference is Kyrie has shown to be on an upward trajectory. Teague is about average efficiency for starting guards. This year he ranked 60th for all 171 guards who started a game.

Indiana doesn't need an average shooting efficiency starting point guard, who is about average in terms of passing efficiency, and is career 35% 3pt shooter. He's fine, and I'm sure he'll play well, but I just don't think he is an upgrade at all. This is a move solely to make a move. They could've gotten a player for George Hill that actually moved this team in a direction that furthers their ability to compete in the East. This move just doesn't do that

Seeds 2-4 in the East next year will likely be Toronto, Boston, and maybe Detroit. That’s kinda nuts.

Derrick Rose is gone!! Traded to the Knicks for Lopez, Calderon and other pieces. Looks like Bulls are full on rebuilding now.

Still can't see them getting rid of Butler, fans would lynch them. Even rebuilding you have to have that one guy who gets people to come to the games.

Probably means Gasol is gone though.
