Still can't see them getting rid of Butler, fans would lynch them. Even rebuilding you have to have that one guy who gets people to come to the games.

Probably means Gasol is gone though.

That guy has to want to play for your team, and Butler's pretty vocal about wanting to compete.

They've dangled him for years, not sure why they'd try to hold on to him now.

Was just talking about Dwight Howard with a friend... the topic came up of who would sign him for a near-max/max deal.. With the Pacers picking up Jeff Teague, I wonder if they'll be a landing site for Howard... They're own Big 3 with Howard taking over the role of Hibbert.

Cavaliers dropped a nuclear bomb on the Eastern Conference... hell, the entire league.

Golden State is in disarray; OKC might lose a superstar; the Heat are fucked; and we're watching Atlanta and Chicago burn to the ground. Toronto is just happy to be here.

Let it burn I say....
Some men just want to watch the world burn

I....actually think the Bulls are better with Lopez and Calderon instead of Rose.

Now, they aren't if they can't keep Noah and if Gasol leaves, but those two things could have/would have happened anyway.

I dunno. I'm still pretty sure they aren't trading Butler this summer unless someone blows them away. And quite frankly, I'm starting to think none of these teams have anything that can blow them away. Particularly Boston, the team most mentioned. They are running into the very real problem that no one sees their young pieces as future star players. Everyone knows they would be trading their own star for role players and the number 3 pick in a draft where the top two picks hold way more value.

And it would take a third team to get Butler here. Bulls have no reason to just swap Butler for Love. That doesn't make sense if they are rebuilding. So if Boston doesn't have the juice to get the Bulls to move Butler, and I don't think they do, who does that is willing to make a move?

Butler is going nowhere. The Bulls greatly preferred to move Rose and found a taker.

Rose is such a Knicks move.

Boston is gonna have to settle for a Greg Monroe like player, or just keep waiting. Waiting would be the best move. But they aren't gonna get a Cousins/Love/Butler caliber player because no one believes that any of their guys could possibly be future stars.

Hayward.

Really thinking Cavs should use the TPE tomorrow on Lance if Grizzlies are looking to make moves. If we can help them get another pick(s), that sure do it.

Also, wonder if they sign Pau Gasol?

If we got Lance tomorrow with the TPE, and RJ comes back, then I don't think we need to trade any of our guys. Just re-sign everyone that are free agents (JR, Moz, Delly, Champ, Dahntay, whoever else I forgot) and roll into next year with the same unit + Lance.

This gives us flexibility to make a move midseason, or to let things roll as they are. For example:
-I doubt both of Shump and Stephenson earn their contact by midseason. More than likely one of them will be in the rotation and the other won't. The latter player is tradeable.
-If Moz returns to his 2015 form, then no need to trade him, but if he is in an in-between this year and then - something I think is likely - a lot of teams will want a decent 7'0 player for cheap.
-If Delly is in the rotation, absolutely fantastic, if not, he's tradeable.

And if all of those guys (Shump, Lance, Moz, and Delly) are playing it either means we are injured as fuck or that Lue is playing a really deep roster and keeping our main guys well-rested. So I'd totally be down for the trading for Lance move if Gilbert is willing to spend the extra money.

You can't have a big 3 with a mental midget. Howard's toxic, I can't imagine to many self respecting teams offering up a max contract for him these days.

Yes. Not sure why people are ignoring this point when discussing it... Butler wants out.

And I know everyone is still on the championship high, but if you can get Butler for Love you do it... yesterday

Man I agree.. But some teams are willing to gamble. I think Howard goes to the highest bidder since he's not guaranteed a full max deal. Knicks just wanna sell a product; Pacers.. I dunno, maybe they want rim protection and low post scoring?

Yep, we'd have assets and the means to move them.

Lance fills so many roles on this team, from backup point guard, backup shooting guard, and backup wing. An extra defender, a decent scorer who can create for himself and others....

To me, it's an ideal pickup and the Grizzlies have no reason or desire to keep him around, AFAIK.

Dwight would be a fool to go to NY. He is already a walking circus, and going to NY of all places, he would get killed by the media.

Pacers are actually the smartest move. He actually fits the system, they are a better team, and it is a smaller market where he doesn't have to worry about extra stuff. Pacers with Teague, Ellis, PG, Turner, and Howard could easily be 2nd best team in the East and at least challenge us.
