Cubs don't like the off-speed stuff. I'd be really tempted to roll Merritt out there in Game 4 and see if they can hit those lefty junk balls.

More so than Lucroy, anywaysPerez is going to be the hero this World Series, isn't he?
Bringing him back in 4 is why that's done. Definitely had gas in the tank, maybe burned Miller for tomorrow, but you cross the bridge when you get to it.
Miller lacked his usual control, but he got it done.
Just subscribe to this guy's channel. He has Hamilton highlights for a bunch of games throughout the year.
Keith Foulke was the guy.Was Tito asked during the presser if Miller is available tonight?
Buck pointed out that Tito used a reliever back to back- can't recall who it was- after a close to 50 pitch night during the WS when he was with the Sox.
I give the Cubs credit. They were very patient against Miller. He thrives on guys checking or going around on balls out of the zone and the Cubs were very patient with him.
He got squeezed on what looked like a few pitched, but overall credit went to the Cubs for driving up his pitch count.

He got squeezed on what looked like a few pitches that were right on the corners, but overall credit went to the Cubs for running up his pitch count and not swinging at very many bad balls at all.

Also, I'm so happy to see Roberto Perez play this way. I'm still of the mindset that he is a better player than Gomes. Better defensively, better at framing, a lot more patient at the plate, and while he doesn't have as much power, he certainly has some.
Hammy almost didn't even time to make the call on Perez' homer. It was about two seconds from bat two landing deep in the porch. Absolutely crushed.
Agreed on everything here. The Cubs got the closest of anyone to tagging Miller last night...and still didn't, despite having the bases loaded with no outs.
If/when he comes back tonight, he's going to need to be more aggressive against the Cubs because they clearly have the patience and discipline to not chase his vicious sliders. Make them swing and don't get behind in the count, and Miller'll be fine. He probably can only go 1 inning max, unless Tito is crazier than we all think he is (which very well may be the case).
