2017-18 Cleveland Indians Offseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He's not slated to split time between positions in the AZFL.

When he's played in the field, he has only played at 3B...the results have not been very good to this point...but good lord can he hit.

Do you see him moving positions anytime soon?

If so, 3rd or 1st?

Well articles said he would play some catcher as well, but I am sure just spending that time playing 3B can not hurt him since he is still a young player. How bad has he been looking? I don’t have access to see anything about him

Important to note along with this in the process that all agents of these guys will push this idea in order to further them in negotiations. We'll see if it holds up or not. I don't expect Carlos to accept it though.

We will know in a weekish, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did though except it. The question is what is Cleveland willing to offer to keep him here in Cleveland for a couple more seasons?

This is interesting for those that like to follow the roster deep. This is why they added Haase to the 40-man, to avoid him being on this list.

Also reminds me of a game recently when I saw Joe Colon walking around the stadium after a game among hundreds of fans and not a single person knew who he was lol.

The only one on that list of relevance to me maybe is Ronny Rodriguez since he did have a chance to be added to the 40 man roster. With that being said, we didn’t add him, that means the brain trust didn’t think he would ever be more than a AAAA player. He will play in the bigs at one point in his career, but it seems like he won’t ever amount to anything other than another Michael Martinez

We did lose a fair amount of AAA guys, so I am wondering who is gonna move up to replace them, especially the arms.

I am still expecting Merryweather to join our 40 man roster here soon.

What happened with Cooney? I thought he got hurt or something. Also curious to see how far Garner has slid- guy was on the verge of the bigs last year and now is a FA. Was really rooting for him, kind of a bummer.

Interesting. Sounds like shades of Jesus Montero then. Thanks.

Cooney was hurt when we got him and I think he reaggravated the injury/it wasn’t healing well.

It’s not like those guys we won’t resign especially a Gardner since he is from Northeastern Ohio. They just elected free agency to see if they can find another organization that they can advance up in easier. I’m sure most of them already have deals on the table from the Indians.

He made good strides as a C this year. Still profiles well there, outside of his size. If they stop the 3B experiment, could see them toss him out in RF...who knows, never thought I'd see him at 3B, so they can go a number of ways.

Meh.

Mejia and Montero isn't exactly a good comp, for a number of reasons...biggest one being that Mejia isn't worried about what the before and after game buffets are more than the game itself.

@BimboColesHair who do you see that we could add to the 40 man roster after those guys left for free agency?

Anyone around the league that’s being cut/taken off the 40 man that we may snag from another organization?

I too am looking for a 5 year deal in the $80-90 million range in case anyone is interested.

Am curious what everyone thinks Bruce's market value is... Tough to say now before any signings have been made.

I could be way off base, but I wouldn't expect him to get anything more than 3/$45m with maybe a club option for a 4th. And that's about best case scenario to me.

What say you

Ill be blown away if he gets that but I would also be blown away if the market is down two years in a row. I would personally rather go after Logan Morrison.
