2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
awful for philly if true. the difference between the top 3 prospects is negliable.
BC strikes again.

How can you say this? They're all unique players with completely different skill sets.

These are young men that play different positions, play different styles, have different strengths, have different holes, have different intangibles, have different personalities, have different levels of character/baggage...

The difference is not negligible, and the difference will likely end up being franchise player versus pretty good player. Which is a huge difference. Not to say Fultz will necessarily be the franchise guy and #3 will be the lesser player, but lazily saying the difference is negligible would make you a horrible executive.

This is akin to the logic in 2011 that we should take Derrick Williams at #1 and then whichever PG is there at #4 between Kyrie/Knight/Walker..."because the difference is negligible".

Danny Ainge is the best GM in all of sports.

Rivaled by only Theo.

Kyrie was by far the best player in the games he had played. Fultz isn't on the same level prospect wise and no matter how bad his team was 9-22 is a pathetic record.
Fultz perhaps has the fewest holes in his game, but there are players with higher ceilings in the top 10.

Fultz doesn't have Kyrie's handles, shot or first step when he first came into the league.

Williams had a phenomenal tourney, but a lot of people thought it was a fluke.

So my friend texted me about PG13 saying the only way he would do the trade is if it's a sign and trade

I told him George is still under contract and from what I understand a sign and trade would hard cap us anyway

He said he read something about the new CBA allowing it. I'm quite skeptical of this but can someone confirm that basically the only thing we can get from George before next offseason would be an under the table wink wink agreement?

There's such a thing called an extend-and-trade in which George would agree to an extension with the Cavs before the trade happened. However, the most he could make in his first year of the extension (in PG's case, 18-19) would only be a 4.5% of his 17-18 salary, which would be somewhere around 10mil less than his max. So, assuming he meant extend and trade, then it's technically possible, but I don't see any reason why PG would give up that much money.

Guys PG is not coming here...he's either going to get traded to the Lakers before the season or play out the year in Indiana thus leaving for LA in the next off season...Time to put this to bed

Why would Indiana not try to get as much as they can for George?

The scenario where George plays out the entire season in Indiana seems really unlikely to me.

Fritz this makes no sense I know better than to ever get married

But seriously all it takes is 2 bidders. The Wolves got Wiggins out of Love, but the Pacers are just going to sit on george for one last run trying to avoid the Cavs until the second round? Not buying it.

In hindsight we were impatient..

Love was clearly leaving Minnesota and they got a great prospect out of it. I say make Indiana sweat or just add Melo for much less and move on.
