2017-2018 off-season thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

What if they keep Iggy and replace Zaza with Dedmon?

This tweet was a followup to one in which he said IF the Warriors lose Iggy, THEN they might move to Dedmon.

If they do sign Iggy, they will end up being too close to the tax apron to use the regular(8.4M) MLE on Dedmon. And if they give that money to Dedmon, ZaZa is not coming back.

Hence gaining Dedmon, while losing Iggy/ZaZa is not an upgrade at all in my opinion. Especially in the way it limits their ability to both run their death lineup(Steph/Klay/Iggy/Durant/Draymond) and how they are able to guard the perimeter.

Losing Iggy is a downgrade period. God I hope it happens.

Is $8.4 million a year even the best that Dedmon could do on the market? Mozgov gets $16 mill a year after an atrocious season when he forgot how to even catch a ball...and Dedmon, one of the NBA's best defenders by advanced metrics last season, can be had for half of that?

Cavs keeping James Jones. Derrick Williams and Kyle korver.

Dahtay and deron gone

What do you guys think

I love how lightyears ahead of the league we are now, looking forward to midnight for the hopeful announcement of signing a front office.

Keep Deron.

No. Unless he's a 3rd PG/bench warmer, hell no!
Pretty sure the majority of RCF feels the same way.
We might as well forfeit the next season, if we go with him as the primary back-up PG again.

Let Deron go back to SLC. I'd rather have Rondo for equal money. Rondo can still play some D and drive and dish with the best of them.

Are you expecting us to sign Peak Stockton or what as a back-up PG?

Every single back-up PG who would be available, that too for vets minimum would be flawed.

Deron had a bad NBA Finals but you have to remember we only got him a few months before the playoffs started. Its not easy for a PG to get accustomed to a team in a few months. It takes time. See how well he does after one proper pre-season and few months heading into the regular season.

Did I say that it would be easy to add a decent back-up point??

Deron is washed-up and can't defend. Accept reality.

No way should he be the main back-up Point next season.

Not only can't Deron contribute very much anymore, he also might get injured given his age and injury history.

Looks like Iggy will be playing the espionage part for the Warriors again. The dude is like a modern day KGB era cold war operative.

ZBo would be a solid addition off the bench.

This would also allow us to flip Frye/TT for Melo but the way the last couple of weeks have been, I am not too optimistic!
