2017-2018 off-season thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Jordan Bell pick that the Bulls traded to the Warriors for cash is the Kings pick from the Casspi/Hickson trade that took 6 years to convey.

Unreal.

38th also the slot they picked McCaw in, can GS stop taking all the steals in the 2nd round already?

Well hopefully we can get our front office in some working order and regain some amount of credibility within the league.

I'm thinking about possible undrafted guys we could two-way but we really don't have the infrastructure to really do that right now...

Johnathan Jeanne is super interesting, if he's allowed to play. He was diagnosed with marfan syndrome, so that may be a hard no.

So, after that NBA finals loss, our off-season response is to essentially fire our GM in the middle of a potential Jimmy Butler deal.

Are we really going to be the 2010-2011 Dallas Mavericks?

Do you honestly think if we had an offer the Bulls liked for Butler that getting rid of Griffin prevented that from happening? Any deal Griffin was discussing with the Bulls and all teams would have been worked on by the entire FO, of which several are still here.

More importantly, the Bulls FO was never going to deliver us Jimmy Butler.

This just isn't true....Griffin and Gilbert had "different views" of the future. Those differing views included trading Love for guys on shorter contractual deals.

Gilbert is completely hung up on "player control". The deal died as soon as Griffin essentially got canned. Butler got traded for scrap heaps (Kris Dunn and Zach Lavine plus swapping of picks). That's trash....the Bulls are so far from contending, helping the Cavs means nothing....

If Gilbert shared Griffin's vision, it would have resulted in Love being the centerpiece of a deal that brought back Butler. Gilbert is the one driving the bus right now and that means no substantial changes to the roster for fear of turning into the 2010 Cavaliers.....

Do you think Cavs may go after DWade and Melo once they are bought out midway through season?

Dan has always had Final Say. So if your argument is that the trade would have gone down if Griffin was here, that would be incorrect.

Not that I really buy that angle. I'd be more than willing to bet the "creative differences" and "different visions" had to do with $$$ and with Griff wanting more control/autonomy.

Larger point being:

1. Griff We were not freezed out of trade opps because of Griff leaving

2. Bulls were not going to give us Butler. He didn't have the leverage to force his way here. He also didn't want to lose his new DPE mega extension status(he did anyways). And more importantly, Gar Foreman is a stubborn dude who was not going to trade his superstar to a division rival. Furthermore, they're doing full rebuild. A 28 year old on a MAX deal is not what he was looking for.

If they are bought out, I could see Wade and Melo teaming up with LeBron in CLE or with CP3 in LAC(provided he's still there)

Just simply don't believe this at all. There was also talk of the Suns being offered Porzingis for Devin Booker and the 4th pick..and where is that 4th pick? Still with the Suns. All the talk about them shopping it looks like just that to me, talk.

I noticed that UNC's Kennedy Meeks went undrafted....like him a lot.

When a nice women who fights for her family gets upset she did not have me to talk further just shows the...
