2017 Browns Mock Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think the Cardinals are very much in play for a QB. Palmer has 1-2 years left at most and all of these QBs need development time. Using a 1st round pick on their QB of the future this year seems like a wise move.

Bears are definitely in the QB market. Probably Kizer at the top of the 2nd if he's there. I can see them trading back from #3 and getting a QB. I don't see them taking one at 3.

Kiper and McShay's dueling two-round NFL mock drafts

1. Kiper: Garrett - No explanation for either.
McShay: Garrett

12. Kiper: Watson: "Watson is more experienced than Trubisky, and he's used to the bright lights which will shine on him on Day 1 in Cleveland"
McShay: OJ Howard: "At the moment, I am not getting a strong QB vibe from the Browns, though it's still early. Selecting Howard would allow Cleveland to continue to develop it's roster until it finds the QB it wants"

33. Kiper: Mixon: "Several needs. Look out for pass-rushers/cornerbacks. Off-field issues but tremendous talent"
McShay: Kizer: "Not a finished product but a long-term play for the Browns & Hue. Enticing physical skill set, elite arm strength, mechanics need more work"

52. Kiper: Marcus Maye (S) : "Broke arm in November and only played 9 games, but an explosive defender. Forced 5 fumbles in 2015"
McShay: JuJu Smith-Schuster (WR): "Not a deep threat, but solid size and reliable hands"

Not because of this mock, but from the things I've read, I think Mixon is going to be coming to Cleveland.

I'm fine with it if our personnel truly believe in him. It's not even IF anymore, it's a matter of WHERE we draft him. Obviously, #65 would be ideal, but I'm really thinking it's going to be at #52.

Based on who they have available, I'm going:

1 - Garrett

12 - Corey Davis/Mike Williams

33 - Malik McDowell/Obi Melifonwu

52 - Marcus Williams/Alvin Kamara

Actually I agree with McShay on OJ Howard to be honest, if we are going to go WR/TE in the first round, but that is personal preference. We put four picks plus we replaced Pryor with Britt, I cannot merit spending a first round on a WR when we have so many other issues on this team.

I could get behind these picks outside of Kamara, he seems like JAG to me. I prefer Davis to Williams as well. Otherwise I'd be stoked for those picks in the first 2 rounds.

In a quick study of 15 recent mock drafts, not counting this guy who has us trading to 5, Trubisky fell to the Browns 12 out of 15 of the times.

The three mock drafts he did not, he went to the Jets at 6.

Out of those 12 mock drafts that showed Trubisky available at 12, only 3 have the Browns passing on him, and one was only because they had us taking Watson instead.

I'm of the belief the Browns pass on a QB in the first round, even if they have their pick of the litter at 12. They'll get killed for it, but with all the talent in this draft at other positions of need, I think it can be justified.
