2017 Browns Regular Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What?

You realize that in between us cutting someone that literally no one else in the NFL wanted and re-signing him we had our #1 WR break his hand and another WR getting snaps ruled doubtful, right?

What an odd thing to call a mistake

What is strange is the fact that all four of our preseason QBs actually liked to throw to him. No he has nothing impressive when it comes to stats and whatnot, but he was likely our best playing receiver out there in the preseason. I think cutting him was a mistake, but I guess that is personally just me.

Well if Brock Osweiler liked throwing to him in the preseason I take back what I said

Jimmy Haslem has made a statement regarding Trump's remarks about NFL players:

The Cleveland Browns stand behind our players both on and off the field. We encourage our players to exercise their rights to express their views on political themes. We believe that this attention draws people away from the perpetual mess we've put on the playing field and masks this organization's ineptitude. Once the team starts winning, we will trade any player that brings negative attention for future draft considerations.#FreeJoshGordon

Leslie got cut because the grass is always greener so the Browns thought they'd make out better with guys off the waiver wire. All Leslie did in his chances was run crisp routes, get separation, and make plays. Only problem was he was only getting run against 3rd teams.

I'm not saying much other than he's more deserving than some of the other guys who have been playing ahead of him.

Ravens are getting shit all over by the Jags.

I see...potential with Kizer, but my fear is that this season will take a lot of it out of him if we don't find a way to have our receivers step up and catch some passes.

I know long term that will change...but short term..something has to be done. Please don't make me drag a Cavs comparision here, but you're not going to the playoffs with the NFL equivalents of Ira Newble...

Whelp. Leslie was the only receiver worth a shit other than Duke. That is, if actually making plays counts for anything with this team.

So I didn't watch today...anyone care to give a quick rundown of what happened today? I'm afraid to venture into the game thread.

Scored late to make game respectable. WRs still look horrid, Kizer shows some signs but has a long way to go. Secondary had a horrible first half that put game pretty much out of reach with our limited weapons.

Besides a duke creative run the running game is still no where to be found.

8 drops. 8 fucking drops today.

4 offensive PI's. 4 fucking offensive PI's.

I don't see a single receiver on this team that's an NFL player.

Thank God for Jordan Leslie's stick'em hands. He needs more burn.

Also, 3 TE sets. They are literally our only weapons.

This group of receivers is embarrassing.

Oh, and Kenny Britt. We've seen enough. Cut him.

I put ONE pick on Kizer and even that was a miscommunication with Kasen Williams.

I feel bad for him. I maintain that he's going to be a good quarterback one day. He has flashes, but he has no help. None.

He was at fault for the one throw that was behind Britt and ended up being picked. He had a couple of throws that were really off and should've been picked. When he's throwing 40+ times those throws tend to happen.

I thought Britt looked like an NFL receiver besides still dropping the ball. Big difference compared to everything we've seen from him so far.

Louis hasn't done anything since being drafted. They need to drop that guy as soon as they find someone with a functioning pair of hands.

Yeah if anything the Kasen Williams pick is the only one I think might not have been his fault. Missing Britt on a slant and then the end of the game (even though thats kind of a joke) were. I'm still liking what I'm seeing out of him though. Really cut down on one or two bad throws/decisions a game and he is looking pretty good. Definitely looked better than the Ravens game.

Biggest issue is those drops. Look at the box score and you think he had a horrible game. Watching it tells a different story.

Britt still needs to get it together some more, but he was our leading WR outside of Duke yesterday. Cutting your only proven WR with actual talent is just asinine on a team already lacking it.

Louis is frustrating. Reminds me a lot of Greg Little. Great athlete and size but can't catch worth a damn. I would hold onto him until the final 53 cuts next year at the latest. If he hasn't shown he can be a WR in the NFL by then, cut your loss.
