It is an update from Cabot on that page, so we shall see, but it seems like the starting DE position is Bryant's to loose according to Cabot. I thought he would go back to DT and we have no clue how camp would go, but Bryant was on Oakland's team when Jackson was the head coach there so there and with the fact they kept him after last season, tells me the plans he is in the rotation for us, for at least one more season or he is getting swapped for a pick, not released.
No where at all have they said that Bryant would start at defensive end opposite of Garrett. It's Ogbah, all Ogbah, never has been anything other than Ogbah. He may be in the DE rotation with them, but he's not starting over them.

EDIT: Now I see the update that he's going to be playing the 3-tech some. There we go.

If you read what Cabot says, she says he will play DE, but I figured he would play DT not DE in the 4-2-5 system we have myself so we will know in camp.

He will almost certainly play both in & out, but mostly in. If he is capable of producing to the level that is needed to make the final roster. I'd think he sees more 3-technique than 5-technique snaps, but who knows what Williams will do.

What makes you think Bryant knows more than MKC?

(I cant even type this with a straight face)

Haha I was just putting up what sports writers from Cleveland where saying that way we have something to talk about. I was expecting him to be inside at DT not at DE, but if Bryant says he will be at DT then I'll believe him before Cabot (who wants to marry Grappolo lol)

Not a knock on you, i dont Twitter, dont read cleveland sports writers since i am in Phoenix, but appreciate when you quote them.

Most of us know when you start out So and So says, its not your opinion its theirs.

I've read it. It says he will play DE (which I think she's incorrect) but she does not say he will start. My whole issue was saying that he would be a starter with Garrett, completely failing to acknowledge a player who we should expect a lot from this year in Ogbah.

Anyway, end of topic.

I don't like Cabot personally and right now all we have is Twitter and writers like Cabot since we don't get to watch practices and see what everyone is doing. I would love to see practices and where everyone is lined up.

i hate to say but with depth charts I keep an eye on the fantasy football pages like Ourlads especially once preseason starts up since they seem to spot on where guys will be playing in the depth charts. I always find sleepers when I am playing fantasy football that way and keep an eye on the rosters lol

Nobody has, for that matter.
My argument was with the coach's quote (below), which does, in fact, state Ogbah would be coming off the bench. The is not what Cabot said, this was his opinion. I was disagreeing with said opinion.

From the latest update it looks like Bryant will be a DE for this roster with likely Ogbah and Nassib being the backups. How do you guys feel about Bryant being on the outside with Garrett on the other side?

Personally I think it would be a mistake for him to not start somewhere on the line (as long as he proves he deserves it) since he is our most experienced guy and we do need someone to lead the defensive line. We brought in a ton of talent, but very little actual NFL game experience. I don't think we are going to keep him unless he can contribute as an every down type of guy so I believe he will get majority of the snaps somewhere on the line even if it's mostly in one spot or between a couple spots.

I guess I was maybe reading too much into it since I felt Bryant is a starter, whether or not it's at DE or DT, he is one of our starters for our DLine and if he is slated to be a DE then he is starting there was my opinion and what I was reading into it.

I agree with you.

Just pointing out that no "sports writers" have said he's starting either.

So I'm really not sure where he got this from.

Sometimes I feel like Sportscoach can really get carried away with his own ideas running rampant in his head and confuse them with facts.....

......probably just me.

Well next time that crazy voice in your head starts talking to you, just remember that Bryant is now in his early 30's and coming off a very severe injury.

Also remember this is probably the best mix of young D-Line talent this team has had.... in awhile.

One thing I forgot about Calvin Pryor is that he actually played free safety in college. He had a reputation for laying the wood on big hits at Louisville, but he wasn't an in the box player. Maybe his disappointing play with the Jets had a lot to do with changing roles. I'm pulling for him to regain his form and have enough range for the starting free safety gig.
