2017 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Kaz Tadano enjoying a sausage party took the Indians off the Asian radar years ago...

Any idea how a team is going to play him? He looks like a great pitching prospect, but his batting is out of this world.

Maybe an American team can DH & pitch him every 5 days. Its such an odd situation because I feel like pitchers are wrapped in bubble wrap the 4 days they aren't pitching.

I think it could be really interesting the ways that he could be used to maximize his abilities. I could see him being a closer that plays DH full time, or a starting pitcher that DHs part time. I think he would be best at an AL club, because otherwise his bat or his arm will be largely wasted.

If he came to the Indians and was good enough to start, I think we would go to a 6 man rotation so that he could DH more often.

Is Otani a pitcher and DH his off days?

Just curious after reading about him what do you with his talents?

From what I can tell he is like a Ruth in a sense. Someone who has very high potential both as a pitcher and as a hitter (people forget Ruth was actually more of a pitcher at first especially putting in 300 innings a season in his early 20s). Now I am not saying he will hit that way, but it wouldn't surprise to see him as a starter but get 200-300 ABs a season with his 30+ starts.

Otani in limited time hasn't been a bad LF/RF so if he does play a position here it would be there. If he signs with an American League club and wants to bat, he will DH/PH a 3ish times a week. Also he can be used as an emergency OF.

In the National league he will hit when he pitches and likely will pinch hit in a ton of games and will be an emergency OF as well. So you may see him get some OF reps in double switches and whatnot.

In the modern Era of baseball teams like a guy to do one or the other so it's hard to say how they will use him and what he wants in his contract when someone tries to sign him. I just not sure how MLB coaches and FOs will want to use him/if they will allow him to go both ways or not.

Well, didn't see it anywhere else but our 2017 Cleveland Indians have officially clinched a playoff birth

I think it's because we can technically till be passed by the 2nd wild card, but people don't realize that if Minny passes us, they win the division and we get the wild card.

No, we clinched a playoff spot

I know we clinched it, but I am saying the reason no one is reporting it as a fact is because they don't realize we clinched it.

Re-sign the entire damn team
Except Boone Logan. We are 43-11 since he was injured. 48-45 before that. The Logan curse was lifted. Just joking. I hope he is coming along OK. Great talent that we had to adjust for. Shows how our bullpen has strengthened with adversity. Love this team.

Haven't lost since August 24th. When ships were stuck without wind for days or even weeks at a time, sailors often became restless and believed that members of the crew had cursed the ship and that only sacrificing that crew member could bring wind back to the ship's sails:

I personally don't believe in anything like jinxes or curses, but I thought this was a great scene.
