2017 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He helped the Rays reach the World Series the year after he was drafted, coming out of the pen.

Come on man... :chuckle:

5.2 innings in the pros out of the pen in the playoffs in his first season as a pro pitcher. He hasn't come out of the pen in 8/9 years and then you ask him to be effective as Miller. I would be very surprised if he could do it especially in a injury riddled year that he has had issues with his elbow.

No shit.

He can't be as effective as the best reliever in baseball.

What are you trying to say?

I am saying to the comparison, he won't be solid out of the pen this year is my hunch towards him. Yes he can come out of the pen for Boston, but I don't think he will be effective.

I agree there's no comparison.

I think he'll be fine coming out of the pen.... but David Price playoffs "fine" is a whole different story

This comment I can agree with.

Either way hopefully Miller is 100% for the playoff since that gives us a top bullpen weapon. This team does not lose if we are winning after 6 innings especially with who we have. I mean it seems like Olson and Smith are the first Lefty/righty out of the bullpen then Shaw, the Miller/Allen depending on who is batting in the 8th and 9th innings. That is the scenario on paper for almost every game. I like how deep we are since we have a veteran setup man coming in for the 6th inning.

The big problem with David Price is that he's not that good And then shits all over himself come playoff time

I have confidence in all of our top 6. Miller, Allen, Shaw, Smith, Goody, Olson.

I really hope Olson can continue his dominance in the postseason. He's been unreal for us this season. He should be getting much more attention for what he's been doing.

Naw let him stay under the radar and keep doing what he is doing. Sometimes guys do worse when the spotlight in a sense in on them. If he doing well then don't essentially put more lights on him than need be.

Goody still may not make the playoff roster if we only keep 11 pitchers. It seems like we have 8 locks if everyone is healthy to make the roster in Kluber, Carrasco, Bauer, Miller, Allen, Shaw, Smith and Olson.

Then we have Clev, Tomlin, Goody, Otero as the next four guys to choose from. I know your preferences on who makes it, but nothing is set in stone yet with the last 3 spots since Francona goes by his gut at times and not by the numbers.

Will be interesting to see when Olson is used. Assuming Miller if healthy, I would think it's only in 1 of 2 situations.

1. 2 outs, Starter won't be returning following inning, lefty batter, low stake situation

2. LHP batter, Miller has already been used

I actually expect Olson in the 6th/7th inning kind of like last night when Tomlin left in the 6th inning with Smith and Olson up in the bullpen. That's what I see on a night normally.

In the postseason, Olsen is a guy they burn in the 5th-6th innings to go get an important lefty.

Beyond the sixth inning in a tight game, it's Joe Smith, Shaw and Andrew Miller as the bridge to Allen.

Having the luxury of playing 6-inning games throughout the playoffs is a huge advantage.

I peeped First Take this morning and they were talking Indians, let alone MLB. I instantly turned the channel when I saw the topic was, "Will the Indians pull a 2016 Warriors?" :chuckle:

Such trash.
Did Jemele comment on how the logo is razist?

It was Kellerman and Stephen A, the two premiere authorities on MLB analysis today.

I will say, ESPN sucks, but I really enjoy some of their dedicated MLB analysts like Olney and Kurkjian. Those guys aren't mere entertainers like the above.
