Boston doesn't scare me at all to be honest. Houston is a bigger threat at the end of the day. Also Yankees are a bigger threat than the Twins so go Twins! Beat them Yankees!
Honestly I'd be a bit superstitious drawing the Twins; the 2002 A's season was ended by the Twins in the ALDS after having their streak broken by KC...

Wasn't talking Boston as a whole but in reference to Sale's record against us. He is still a threat despite getting rocked by us. Everyone currently has an ERA of 0.00 so I don't care about season stats against each other. Minny just needs to win one game and the Yankees are done and I am really pulling for that. Not that they have a chance against us, I just really hate the Yankees.

Sale has struggled some recently, at least he isn't looking quite as dominant as he was for much of the season

Last 8 games: 4.30 ERA

3 shutouts

But the other 5 starts weren't great:

Aug 19- 4 ER in 7 IP, Loss to New York
Aug 24- 6 ER in 3 IP, Loss to Cleveland
Sept 3- 3 ER in 4-1/3 IP, Loss to New York
Sept 15- 4 ER in 5-2/3 IP, Win vs. Tampa
Sept 26- 5 ER in 5 IP, Loss to Toronto

Boston needs him to show up strong Game 1 or I think Houston makes quick work of them

A whole lot of hand-wringing on the Twittersphere this morning about modifying the Wild Card. I like the way it's formatted now. Really looking forward to the match-ups these next two nights.

Would prefer to not face the Yankees. Their bullpen is lights out and their offense can hit the cover off the ball.

With that said, we can beat anyone, so it is what it is...

I don't twitter but I hate the one game wild card. Just don't think it's right. Entertaining as hell for fans of other teams, though.

I wonder if the Yankees were the #2 WC and the Twins were #1, there'd be less outrage.

I love the wild card set up, puts more emphasis on winning your division while simultaneously giving more teams a chance
Just to expand on this: since the Wild Card game was introduced in 2012, 19 different teams have qualified (10 different organizations in the American League, 9 different organizations in the National League). Only five of those 19 have made it more than once. It's given fans of a lot of different teams a chance to experience high-stakes postseason baseball, be it for even just one game.

It would be much better as a 3 game series.

No, it wouldn't. Just adds more questions moving forward.

How do you format a 3 game series? Do you use both venues? If so, do you go 1-1-1, 1-2, 2-1? Off days for travel? What if it's an East coast vs West coast WC?
Is it fair for the teams waiting for the wild card series' to end to not play for over a week potentially?
How deep would a 7 game World Series now go into November because of later DS start dates? Weather concerns start to become more of a factor, especially if you get 2 cities like Cleveland and Chicago involved like last year.

I don't think this is necessarily the case, people have hated for awhile that a 162 game season with baseball's unpredictability comes down to 1 game.

Definitely see why people are opposed to it, I hated it in 2013 when the Tribe were in it. But from a neutral perspective, the winner-take-all aspect of it makes it so exciting. That's what the MLB wants and why it's 1 game.

I think you could pull a best of 3 round pretty easily. You just have to be flexible with time. You do a 1-1-1. First game is afternoon game. Second game happens evening of the following day, third day off, 4th day game 3. 5th day (sunday) you play the 1 seed.

The 2 seed v 3 seed round starts either day 3 or day 4 and there is an extra game off at some point.

Edit, i do like the current format though, but a quick best of 3 isnt impossible
