Sounds like Baltimore is pulling themselves out in retaining Trumbo.

They can get themselves pretty much the same bat profile for a fraction of the cost in Chris Carter...same defensive liability too.

Smart by them.

If they're inquiring into EE, I'm assuming this info is relevant as well.

Not sure I'd get in on Trumbo at 4/55+

Pretty much.

Been calling it for a few years now. It's bound to happen, it will happen, NY Yankees needs a marquee face.

Literally everyone has been calling it for years...

They have something like 35 million dollars on the books for 2018 right now. They're going to give him the most expensive contract in baseball history. Perfect storm.

If Trumbo goes to Texas this will get interesting...

Boston doesn't want to go over the luxury tax for a 3rd straight year, Yankees already grabbed Holliday to fill in the 1B/DH role and have young 1B, Astros grabbed Beltran to fill the DH role and probably play McCann at 1B, Jays look like they've moved on...

Where the hell would that leave Encarnacion's market...

Anyone else think Harper is a little over-rated??
He is a major douche bag, but he is 23 and has been a great player thus far. After a few more seasons, his game will be on another level. The writing is on the wall, he will be a Yankee...and everyone in the world knows it. I wouldn't put it past the Nationals to run a full on smear campaign for the next two years while they milk what they can out of him.

Yes...I don't think he can repeat his 2015 season ever again with how pitchers have changed the way they've gone about pitching him. Still, good bet to be a 4-7 WAR player most of his seasons moving forward.

But rarely do you ever see a 25 year old former MVP hit the open market...perfect storm for him to get the most money ever in a deal.

Let's get some rumors going:

Mariners looking to deal Seth Smith

Mets looking to move Jay Bruce or Curtis Granderson; asked the O's for one of their established relievers in exchange for one of them

Rangers looking into Mark Trumbo; want to re-sign Carlos Gomez; interested in trading for Billy Hamilton

Royals listening to trade offers for Lorenzo Cain, Wade Davis, Danny Duffy, and Jarrod Dyson

Rangers, Nats, and a "mystery team" are the market for Andrew McCutchen

Astros looking to move Mike Fiers or Collin McHugh

Derek Holland continues to be linked heavily to the Pirates

Marlins going hard after Jansen and Chapman. Supposedly willing to offer 5/80 to Jansen

O's interested in Michael Saunders. They really want a LHH corner OF

Pads are shopping Yangervis Solarte

Good stuff. Pipe dream for EE, anyone want to put some odds we get him?? 25/35%??? Too high?
