2017 MLB Offseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah...I don't see the fit.

No room to play 1B, he's terrible defensively in the OF, they already DH Cruz who is also a terrible defensive player in the OF, and when he briefly played for Seattle that stadium sapped his power for some reason.

I do like how we are letting the market play into our hands here. You might not like the result of it in the end but we are going to get one of these guys on deal even if it is Nap back. Trumbo is a wild card and could end up anywhere at this point.

I'll like it a lot better if one of the 3 other teams looking for the same thing as us (RH 1B/DH) randomly signs Chris Carter.

Yes that would be a huge plus in so many ways.

Great news for us, takes a 1b landing spot off the market. I still can't quite wrap my head around the move though. He's been a bit below a league average hitter by wRC+ over his last 3 years, and fangraphs projects him with only a 92 wRC+ score in 2017. Added to which you're paying him $14 mill per year and moving him from SS/CF to 1B and giving up the 11th overall pick? I don't see where the value is at all.

Ian Desmond is trash

Desmond had a great 1st half last year. Fell off in the 2nd half, but going to Colorado should keep his numbers up.
