2017 NBA Finals | Game #2 | Cavaliers @ Warriors | June 4th, 2017 @ 8:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A lot of you are thinking its over. Is it? If the Cavs win game 3 its a series again. I get the other team is different than last year and they are stacked but I will never count out an LBJ-led team. Sure I am mad, sure I know realistically it looks bad. But until loss 4 happens there is still a shot at this.

The task seems daunting. It's like the Cavs have to play a perfect game at the same time the W's lay an egg but a lot of us were thinking negatively last season and the comeback happened. Again not trying to compare because its completely different but my point is this isn't over.

I am realistic. I know its unlikely. But there is still that feeling.

They came out and played defense and were offensively rolling and then they got into one of their offensive lulls in the 2nd half and GS never looked back. The thing is you have to play defense during those lulls to sustain the drought. But hey, Irving struggled and it seemed as though only James/Love showed up and the bench did for a half.

This team is too good to already be counted out. Sure I am mad and disappointed but Im watching game 3 with the same energy and enthusiasm I had for these last 2.
Admire the optimism, and I am aware we started 0–2 in '16, but this just feels different than last year, doesn't it?

Even Lebron seems to have that "smh" disposition... and I'm not criticizing the Cavs. I believe they are capable of beating any other team in the NBA in a best-of-seven. I will definitely pull hard in game three, but man this stinks.

And play derrick williams ffs you muppet lue

My main beef besides the things the Warriors do get to do ..is we're not getting any production from JR/Kover/TT..THAT hurts.
You know they're doubling Irving but someone else has to step up.
Love did.
JR is gone..and has been .

If they're doubling Irving why not have lebron there to catch off the double, attack and pass to the open player?

That's not an excuse.

And many MANY plays last night, Irving didn't do shit and he wasn't doubled. But as I said, if they are doubling him, why not counter by putting the best passer close to him to destroy them from doubling Irving.

That's what the warriors do by putting draymond/iggy at the top if we decide to double curry or Durant.

Yea but the Cavs run one screen for Korver and then as soon as they go over or get a switch out the Cavs run ISO.... I mean I'm watching the tv and can tell when they're running a play for Korver so I'm sure the Warriors get it every time....

Look there's only one team that can do this and it's the Warriors... Cavs score 113 and essentially lose another 20 point game because they simply can't stop that offense....

The Warriors aren't gonna have 3 or 4 consecutive possessions in which they don't score the ball-- whereas the Cavs do consistently...

There's this 3 stops in a row rule that a lot of coaches preach... Get 3 stops in a row.... Almost impossible to do against the Warriors on a regular basis.... And once you're playing from behind you'll almost never get to draw even again yet alone get a lead and expand it....

I don't see the Cavs swinging the ball like they have been.
While GS is athletic, there isn't movement on the ball.
Love did something I thought he should have..when he got the ball several times he immediately made a move, other times he couldn't get enough lift or just go up stronger on his half hook.
Where is TT Pip????
Where the heck is he and JR ?
JR's head is gone.
Shump has to start.

We need Kyrie off the ball, cutting, running around screens while LeBron is the ball handler.

Its time to call like it is. Kyrie is a shooting guard. Lets get him moving so he can catch it and make plays. Right now he's running into a wall.

Knicks can who comes in peace. Was it just a money thing that dellanova couldn't be resigned? Also how long do you see this Cleveland group continue their run as a contender. The only constants I see long term are LeBron Irving maybe Love. The rest I see are expendable.

It was partly a money thing plus we had just come off a heroic finals win where he didn't perform and saw him as expendable. We also had Mo Williams on the roster so maybe management thought he was our backup PG. Typical us to think the one way shooter would have been enough. Anyway Mo then went to screw us over. I dont know the details

This is the wrong time to be discussing this when we still have hope of winning this thing but if we get swept I'm all for trading anyone but Lebron and Kyrie. TT who I like would have straight up disgraced my predictions of how he would perform in this series. After showing up two years in a row I'd give him another shot. Although it certainly seems like he's been found out against the Warriors. Anything less than trading him for a legit two way player is a downgrade

Love who is also a great offensive talent has physical limitations people overlook but I can't. The margin for error defending against the Warriors is slim. When the other team feels comfortable driving on any of your front court players you're going to struggle to defend at an elite level. For this reason I would only trade him if I knew I could get a stellar defender that could wreak havoc in small ball lineups and mitigate Kyrie's defensive lapses and take the burden off Lebron. I mean the type of player that can go from defending Curry to locking down KD while providing good shooting. After Love's good finals this may be the time to cash in for Paul George or Butler plus assets.

JR....Let's not even go there. Dumb player whose shot disappears every finals on a so so contract. Says a lot that Blatt who loved him didn't play him in the 2015 finals. Terrible defensive mistakes too

The rest of the roster, I don't care what happens. Low contributions from low earners should not surprise anyone. It's the top earning guys I'm looking at. If they can't have the impact to put us above the Warriors then they should have the trade value that can

As long as we have Love, Lebron and Kyrie we will also be a contender on the East. Dellavadova is a good player - But considering how Durant joined the WArriors and completely tilted the power scale, I dont think Delly could have done much to drastically change our fortunes. Warriors simply have too much talent and length. Our only hope right now is to hope for Shump and JR to play better. Our shooters to make the open shots and hope that Golden State misses more of their shots. It is an interesting experiment to see if any team can be put together that can challenge this team, but make no mistake - this Golden State team is really well stacked even more so than last years team.

Regardless of what happens this series the main problem I see with this team long term as an outsider Knicks fan looking in is I don't know if you saw undisputed this morning. One of them stated a big problem with this year's team as opposed to last year is the Cavs were much better last year. They held the warriors almost 15 points less than their season average. Also I was surprised to find out don't know if it is true the Cavs shot more threes than the warriors this season so the focus seemed to shift this year to shooting more threes. My last thing I would say is Kylie and James for the Cavs to play well and win it seems have to both score over 35 point to win due to lack of bench scoring.

Another thing about the warriors are I think it is overblown with they are going to win the next 5 years. The salary cap prevents that. They will be paying Durant and curry. iguldola has to resign. After next year play contract is up. What if play wants to leave. They will be way over the cap to keep the whole team and their isn't any guarantee they can keep everybody. Remember the heat being some big dynasty? They won 2 in 4 years. What about the Garnett Pierce Celtics only won one championship. Remember the young Okc team was the future? Never happened. Things can change in the league quickly and even though this golden state team have players in their prime I don't see 5 more years of dominance as some have said. Let see after 2 more years after this season what the golden state team looks like.

I think Delly would have help to keep the defensive versatility of this team. Add to that he would have kept a stable presents for our second unit. Maybe that would have allowed Lue to experiment more in the regular season and allow the front office to go after a wing/forward in the buy out market instead of Deron.

Right now, it's a question who you put Shump on, Durant or Curry. He has played both well, Delly would have made it easier to try to keep Shump on Durant for more minutes. At the end of the day, the Cavs need to look for a new formula going forward with this team. They need to go back to the mentality that defense wins championships.
