2017 Series #2 -|- Indians vs. Diamondbacks -|- April 7th, 8th, and 9th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Still, let's not pretend he's actually a good hitter. You're still putting the bat in the hands of an inferior player. It'd be like if some team was dumb enough to put a bat in the hands of Michael Martinez.

He is as good as any Indians catcher last year.

Just saying he isnt a bad hitter.

Also, if some pitchers hit every day instead of once every 5 days, they would be 250 hitters or so. Some say Maddox could have hit .300 if he was an every day player.

Well, thank God the home opener wasn't today otherwise we'd be looking at consecutive years with a postponement.

Yeah, and the Indians catchers hit very poorly last year.

He's a bad hitter. He has that nice novelty to swing out of his ass, and hit a few homers, but he's still a bad hitter.

Maddux was an awful hitter, too. Career .171/.191/.205, absolutely brutal.

Perhaps if these guys had focused on hitting throughout their professional careers instead of pitching, they'd be good, but they didn't, and they suck at hitting.

I bet Lonnie is ready to go. Any word on if he'll be ready for the home opener? He'd be in the line-up against RHP James Shields (2-14, HR, 2BB, 3K).

That's when he is supposed to return, or at least when they said they expected him to return when they put him on the 10-day.

Was only pointing out why they are bad hitters. No one can come in 1 out of every 5 days and hit well for a career.

They dont focus on hitting, and makes even more sense to adopt the DH rule for both leagues.

And i dont think some are bad hitters, just dont practice hitting as much...but i guess that is semantics.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm over Lonnie as an Indian.

I believe this, but there are a lot of things I'd be better at if I had practiced them more, but I didn't, and I'm bad at these things. Just ask Q-Tip's mom.

Why? He was solid in the playoffs with a few big hits, and is part of a highly productive platoon with Guyer.

No, it's not just you.

But the group of you guys saying it are dumb, IMO.
Why are we dumb for being more excited about Zimmer, Naquin, Yandy? I even like Almonte more now.

Somebody has to go.
