2018 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Something is off here.

This is what I’ve been thinking as the day goes on... I’m afraid to say it though without being ripped to shreds. It’s guilty before proven innocent now, and you’re just as bad as the person who committed the crime if you say anything but “shame”

So if he’s gone, who do we want to replace interim Schiano? Matt Campbell, maybe Tom Herman comes back?

How has there been nonresponse to this? Unfuckingbelievable.

Yeah, Meyer & OSU would be foolish to think people will just move on from the outcry against Meyer. This is Urban Meyer and this is Ohio State. We saw the witch hunt that took place with Tressel...this will be even bigger.

Someone will have to speak on this, one way or the other. Izzo & Dantonio made statements and a couple days later everyone forget they were even a part of the story.

It is going to be interesting on what happens, if the story being written is true, it is hard to defend Urban, especially after his comments at media day. This is the part the confuses me the most, with everything going on, why would he lie on media day and not just blow the question off if he did indeed know. You would have to imagine there could be some blow back from the entire thing, but now he is on record saying he did not know it gets even worse.

On the flip side though, I think OSU owes it to their students and fans to digest the entire situation and be transparent on the process. I don't think they need to come out in support of Urban or against him until they know the facts.

Meyer will survive because you can’t punish or fire an employee based on hearsay.... which is exactly how the allegations were presented to Meyer, if he indeed knew (which I’m positive that he did know).

My point is, what recourse does Meyer and Ohio State have if there’s no conviction or even charges being pressed against Smith?

Like, OSU/Meyer couldn’t just fire Smith because his wife told some other coaches wives that he beat her. It’s also not Urban Meyer’s job to know what goes on within the homes of his other coaches— That’s a job for law enforcement. Law enforcement decided against pursuing charges in 2015.

I know the court of public opinion is gonna rake Urban over the coals but, from a legal standpoint, there’s not a whole lot they could do with Smith.

Nailed it.

So the real issue is him lying last week to the media, then?

As of right now that seems to be it, no? Lied to the media about an incident in which no charges were filed.

FIRE HIM!! -National media & twitter

So the real issue is him lying last week to the media, then?

The real issue is him ALLEGEDLY knowing of the domestic violence back in 2015, not doing anything about it. Keeping Smith on the staff and then saying he never knew about it.

Eh, Not really, have you followed the last few posts that I was responding to?

There will be a response by the end of the work day, is my bet.

Well, something has to be coming today.

"However, Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports has learned that Meyer and Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith were meeting as early as Wednesday afternoon. At this time it is not known whether the meeting is a damage control plan or one that may end Meyer’s tenure as head coach."

No way they meet and not come out with SOMETHING today. That would look so bad for tOSU in general.
