Can I say how disappointed I am that we have a QB like Haskins and we have so much mediocre pass catchers?

JT got all the benefits of Michael Thomas and guys like that. Haskins gets fucking Paris Campbell as his best WRer.

Oh well, this is all prep for Tate and Wilson next year.

There's some great talent there. Now that we have Hartline coaching the WRs, hopefully he is able to actually develop some of them.

This isn't prep for anything. This team is a legitimate contender.

Oh I meant simply for the passing game. This team can go very far because they have probably 2 of the 5 best backs in the Nation, 5 Hulks on the line and a literal wrecking ball of a defensive line.

This D-Line may be the best we ever see in CFB history. Littered with 1st round talent.

Oh, okay.

Clemson's D-Line is ridiculously good as well.

Its been beat to death already, but this D-Line draft class is so fucking good. It's hard to believe so many elite guys are going to be in the same draft.

Oh for mother fucks sake.

Talks about how hurt his kids are

Continues to create further embarrassment for his kids.

Hate how the program is going to be handcuffed to this now as it drags out publicly

If I had to tier the DLines in CFB this year, I'd go:

Tier One
- Clemson
- Ohio State

Tier Two
*Vacated out of respect for OSU and Clemson*

Tier Three
- Alabama
- Auburn
- Michigan
- Virginia Tech

After that, it's pretty much a crapshoot, but Clemson and OSU should be historically incredible.

These dudes just don’t learn. Keep it OUT of the news cycle.
I'm sure Urban will have his usual Monday morning presser this upcoming Monday since his suspension will be over then (except for the following 2 gamedays)...if he handles that well, this can all pretty much be over. He really needs to get his shit together for that press conference.

We also have a 5* #2 WR in the country coming in next year.

With the young talent we already have - our WR is gonna be scary for the next few years.

I think you're underestimating a few of the guys.....especially Austin Mack. I think Mack has really high upside with a QB like Haskins who can actually spin the ball. Mack will get a lot of one on one coverage with the commitment defenses are going to have to provide to stop the run. With Mack's physicality and size, he's going to put up big numbers, especially yards after catch.

I also think Benjamin Victor is someone to watch......

Lastly, Johnnie Dixon, showed a unique ability to get deep last year, with a QB who also missed him multiple times in big games. Will be interesting to see how often Dixon gets deep this year, and Haskins hits him in stride.

Also, you listed Parris Campbell as a WR, when technically, he's our starting HB. Parris will get more work in the run game this year, since we won't lean on the QB as much. Parris has also continued to add muscle to his frame. Many don't realize it but he came into college as a 17 year old. He's a senior by class, but is truly a junior by age. His body transformation is pretty remarkable. With his speed, and the opportunities he's going to get this year, he has a chance to have a special year. There's very few plays prettier than the underneath drag route by Parris where he gets hit in stride and out-runs his defender to the corner and down the sideline.

To be honest, I think it's tough to judge what we have at WR. It wasn't as if Michael Thomas was putting up video game numbers at tOSU either. In fact, our system, suppressed his value to a second rd pick, when if had he been in a Big 12 system, he'd have been a top 15 pick.

It will certainly be interesting/fun to see what Day and Wilson have planned for this year with a guy in Haskins who has a legitimate NFL arm.

I think OSU’s WRs have suffered at the hands of coaching, not that their necessarily bad players.

Dixon, Mack, and Victor were all highly touted coming out of HS. It just seems not one has developed much since their debuts.

I also think JTs inability to read defenses and his accuracy with his mid-range to long ball limited what the coaches could do with the WRs. The coaching staff has to take a big lump of that blame for the lack of development in JT.

I'm excited to see what they can do with Haskins. I also hope they will be more dynamic with the running and screen game. Maybe they will install some run/pass option like the Eagles did with Foles since Haskins won't be much of a running threat.

Not dead yet.... Basically the 2015 police report was leaked anonymously and it's a whole lotta nothing. OSU released the 2009 police report yesterday and it's a whole lotta nothing too. Which is odd considering the media has portrayed both incidents to be just horrible atrocious crimes.

It does look like Courtney is getting caught in a pretty significant lie. She told the Powell PD that OSU sent lawyers to her home to convince her to drop charges against Zach.... which she's now denying having said that. But, when you make a police report, you proof read and sign it to verify the alleged events took place.

But the BIG detail in all of this is where the Powell Police Chief says the full investigation file contains information that would explain or dispute her allegations but they won't be releasing it.

http://www.dispatch.com/news/20180829/report-details-allegations-of-longtime-abuse-by-zach-smith

When Powell police were called to her home in October 2015, Courtney Smith outlined a history of violent acts — choking, physical abuse and death threats — that she says had long made her fear for her life at the hands of her soon-to-be ex-husband.

Smith told Officer Ben Boruchowitz that she was making the report on Oct. 26, 2015, because Zach Smith, then an Ohio State assistant football coach, had come to her Powell condominium the night before and started verbally abusing her, then pushed her into a wall and took their young son with him against her objections.

That account is contained in the narrative of a police incident report mailed anonymously to The Dispatch. Made aware of the mailing and the contents of the report Wednesday, Powell Police Chief Gary Vest did not dispute it.

Boruchowitz wrote that Courtney Smith told him Ohio State sent a lawyer to her home in connection with a previous incident, “convincing her to drop the charge because it would embarrass OSU if she proceeded with the prosecution.”

Chris Davey, OSU spokesman, told The Dispatch on Wednesday night that the university was unaware of any such allegation and would investigate.

According to the report, Courtney Smith also told Boruchowitz that Zach Smith had abused her for years, and she described multiple incidents. Smith was fired July 23 by Ohio State coach Urban Meyer after his ex-wife obtained a protection order.

“The victim states that last year, the suspect choked her until she could not breathe,” the narrative report said. “The victim states that the suspect tells her all the time that he will kill her.”

The one-page narrative details several other incidents, including in October 2014 when she claimed Zach Smith “cut her hand open with a tin can causing significant bleeding.” She showed Boruchowitz photographs that she said were from the attack. In January 2015, she said, Smith “threw her into a wooden stair causing significant bruising and swelling.” Boruchowitz was again shown photographs Courtney Smith said were from the incident, according to the report.

And while in the Dominican Republic in 2014, the report said, Zach Smith grabbed her around the neck and lifted her off the ground before throwing her on the bed. She told Boruchowitz that she could not keep track of all the incidents and noted that many happened in the presence of their small children.

According to the incident report, Courtney Smith reported that much of the abuse stemmed from her husband’s anger over her suspicions that he cheated on her with other women.

Vest has said that the full investigation file contains information that would explain or dispute allegations by Courtney Smith. The city has refused, however, to release the file.

Vest said police had turned the case over to the Delaware County prosecutor for felony charges. Those were never filed.

Brad Koffel, Zach Smith’s attorney, said Smith returned from a recruiting trip in November 2015, “answering every question police asked.”

The case, he said, was reviewed by prosecutors and “everyone can draw their own conclusion why charges weren’t filed.”

“At some point in time, the exculpatory evidence outweighed the incriminating allegations,” Koffel said.

If investigators determined that the case did not warrant charges, whether felony or misdemeanor, that should be explained, said Nancy Neylon, executive director of the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. “It would look better if they said, ‘We did an investigation and we didn’t think there was enough information to go forward.’”

But, Neylon said, the report is concerning and contains numerous warning signs and red flags that point to an escalating and dangerous situation.

“Really, hearing that makes me fear for her even now,” Neylon said of the report. “I literally have chills.”

Police receive training on how to handle domestic-violence incidents and should work to assess the risk of harm, she said.

“They’re looking for probable cause to make an arrest. In this state, there’s a preferred course of action,” Neylon said. “They should be looking at the totality of what’s happened. And if they’ve been called more than once, they know there’s a history.”
