My issue with the whole thing:
If it's just a planned absence that was always going to happen and is part of a plan, why didn't Dorsey announce it for him?
Why didn't the organization soften the blow for us instead of making him address it/tweet it?
This is me speculating, but I don't think it was planned. I really think this guy has anxiety and other issues, drugs and alcohol have always been the way to deal with it. This time around he was having issues again, recognized he was about to relapse, so he raised his hand.
I hope society can get to the point where an annual mental health checkup is just as normal and routine as a annual physical or doctors visit. Like KLove said, sometimes just talking to someone, getting things off your chest, can be very helpful. I hope that is what Flash needs, and the Browns get him into a weekly session if they haven't already. I'm really hoping he can get on the field for week 1.
