2018 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Fine with us not getting in, but not fine with us finishing behind Georgia.

Basically even if OU would’ve lost to Texas yesterday, we still wouldn’t have gotten in and that’s a goddamn joke.
I think even if we lost to Purdue by a point, Georgia would be ahead of us

Akron fired Terry Bowden today.

Can't wait to see who they think can do better

What a fucking pussy. His conference is getting raped and he's just accepting it.

The Big 10 is absolutely doomed in this current landscape.

When the Big 12 got raped in 2014, guess what? Their commissioner stood up and made fucking changes. He added a conference championship game. Guess what? That game just birthed Oklahoma into the playoffs. They would not be in the playoffs right now if not for that game. The Big 12 was aggressive and proactive in making a change to help themselves and they are reaping the benefits.

Fuck Jim Delany.

Apparently the chair said Oklahoma, Georgia and OSU were close. If that’s the case, conference tie should be the tiebreaker. That’s according to the committee. But UGA is still ahead of OSU.

Really excited for Notre Dame to get blown the fuck out. Need them to get embarrassed... by like 35-40 points. Hopefully they wouldn't be taken seriously anymore after that until they join the ACC or whatever.

Rooting for Oklahoma to take the whole thing though, because I can't stomach another Bama/Clemson champion and I want Notre Dame to get slaughtered. Honestly have no problem with OU getting in over us, but I'm just pissed we're sitting #6. Hell, Michigan finished seventh and we ruined their entire franchise this year.

2nd year in a row the big 10 champion didn't make the playoffs.

Oklahoma didn’t beat anyone ranked higher than 13, Ohio State beat #4 and #9 (rankings when they played).

The whole playoff system is so stupid.

In 1975, the NCAA basketball tournament expanded to 32 teams. In 1985, the NCAA kept growing the tournament until it doubled it to 64 teams 10 years later. 64 teams wasn't enough, so they expanded to 68.

Meanwhile college football took until 1998 to even have a championship game, then took until 2014 to establish a 4 team playoffs. A playoffs system that doesn't have enough teams to automatically include the conference champion from the top conferences in the country.

At a minimum, college football should have a 6 team playoffs. Give the top 2 teams a bye the first week. Even better would be a 12 team playoffs, top 4 teams get a bye. How can the big 10 commissioner not be calling for an expanded playoffs? Ohio State and Michigan should both be in the playoffs.

.

I will be honest i think this is closer than the committee, but Georgia still has 2 losses, and when the name of the game is you have to win, thats just not acceptable to be a top 3 team.

As I have it

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Ohio State
4. Oklahoma
5. Georgia
6. Michigan
7. Notre Dame.

Dremont *might* play in the rose bowl.

He totally shouldn’t. Plus it’d be good to see the guys behind him get reps.

Dwayne Haskins. Heisman Finalist.

Unfortunately, it’s rigged against him. Kyler has all the flash. Tua has the wins. All Haskins did was shatter all the Big Ten passing records. Wonder what kind of stats he would’ve put up playing against Big 12 “defenses”.

Media tried to give it to Tua months ago, but he did absolutely nothing the last month of the season, so it'll go to Kyler now since he made the playoff.

Only hope is they give to Haskins because he did not make the playoffs.

Voting is going to go:

1) Murray
2) Tua
3) Haskins

Guaranteed. I'm fine with Murray winning, because he did have a fine season (against shitty ass Big-12 defenses). As long as Tua doesn't win, then I don't care a whole lot. I know they won't give it to Haskins even though he probably deserves it.

Actual CBS Sports headline: "Murray, Tua among Heisman finalists"

Really?
